I bought this free range deal last time. I see no difference in size or taste between these free range and my usual £1 for 15 eggs from lidl. I'm sticking with lidl.

Thank you for your contribution. I'm sure you could not tell the difference between a caged chicken and a corn-fed one either...

Sorry dude. I don't care about chickens. I also eat halal chicken and lamb. I'm one of those types....

Yet you care enough not to buy free-range eggs? Odd.

Of course- I don't care about chickens, I care about money in my pocket so the lidl eggs are cheaper and there are more of them. I don't see where I have been inconsistent here.

Had to turn it off, I feel ill.

What I'd like to know is, do they have an orange yolk or a peely wally yellow one?

Iceland. Cold.

lemon yellow ones. not orangy

Tasteless eggs from chickens fed on ****. Cold at any price. Do yourself a favour and nip down to the local farm shop or get six for a quid off a neighbour. Far better value for the quality.

No discernible nutritional difference between free range and caged hen eggs.

Range eggs are for people with Agas. The security guard at Iceland will expect you to have brought yours with you.

I'm thinking a nice Leerdammer omelette for lunch.....

quite the parasitic attitude there.

free range can also mean 13 chickens in a cage instead of the usual 14 per m² and I find the normal lidl 10 x box @£80p one of the best around

Actually Ive found the only rivals at same price range for QUALITY (size of yolk and taste) of Lidl's is Asda. Tesco Sainsbury's and Morrisons smaller yolk and not as nice. M&S better - but twice the price (at least)

Damn just bought 20 mixed for £2 lol

All very nice if you live out in the wilds. Farm shops are a bit thin on the ground in cities

A local farm shop in central London: discuss.

I think Lidl has 15 Large free range for about this price too.

There's a place just off J5 of the M3 near Hook that does completely free-range eggs; £2/dozen.

I wonder if anyone did a blind taste test whether they could tell the difference... :P

In what way am I a parasite? I come to a deals site for deal. I have a better deal than this with lidl eggs at 15 for £1 which taste the same and is a better deal. Chicken are just cattle to me raised for eating- how they are raised is no concern to me. The cheaper the better.

There is at least 1 in Edinburgh which sells good free range eggs from their own hens, Gorgie City Farm on Gorgie Road

There used to be a few in Newcastle area. No longer. There are occasional farmers markets, but prices are obscene and frankly, none too impressed with the eggs I bought. No better than what Lidl's were selling for about 25% of their price
