You receive a code instantly. 5% voucher here: facebook.com/cdk…996

I did post the code but it seems to have been deleted (or my browser foobarred!).

It is cheaper to purchase the 12 + 1 month version below. Forza not included (unfortunately), but 13 months not 12 months.

13 months for £25.90 at £1.99 per month without 5% Facebook discount code being used, should be able to use 5% discount also.

See:-

Good deal. I've taken to buying them for a bit less from G2A now but obviously their sellers don't have the trust ratings of CDKeys.

Is there a expiry date on the subscription ? Do I just use the code at the bottom of the email of confirmation ? Sorry being dumb lol

Thanks, useful for me.
Are there any other benefits apart from playing games online?

There's no expiry date, just enter the 25 digit code into your XBL account.

Week ago bought 13 months for £24.69 after 5% voucher.
Was then better deal value-wise than 12 months one.

Free Games with Gold these days.

The XB1 games are only yours until your sub runs out but the 360 games are yours for life.

I'm very thick. My 10 yr old has an x box but I have no idea what this gold membership does. Could anybody help and tell me what it does and how it works please

It enables online multiplayer as it's main purpose. It's probably best that a 10 year old doesn't have it tbh.

Hi, yeah sure I can help.

Xbox Live Gold gives members access to better features on Xbox. To summarise:

1. The ability to play online games with friends and people around the world
2. Exclusive offers for Gold members
3. 2 free games with gold (Xbox 360) and 1 free game with gold (Xbox One)
4. Better rewards with Xbox Live Rewards
5. The ability to chat with several friends in a party/group chat

This page explains it all and has a table at the bottom which compares Gold to free membership:

So as I said, for reasons 1 and 5 especially, a 10 year probably shouldn't be using it.

I see where you're coming from, however can you imagine a 10 year old who has all their friends playing on Xbox Live, and they are not because they're not allowed? Also, there are loads of parental controls and online safety settings so that nothing bad happens.

IMHO, the parents who gave their kids access to XBLG are probably the ones who made a mistake.

Parental controls rely on two things. Firstly, that a parent knows they exist and is able to configure them correctly and secondly that the parent is able to set them up in such a way that the child won't be able to reverse them later. Both are pretty risky tbh and Xbox as a platform isn't really geared towards kids at all.

The 12m + 1 offer- what does it mean by Forza branded? It's not limited is it?

Forza branded means that the physical card will have a Forza logo on it and it may come with a piece of Forza DLC. Aside from that it's the same as any other code.

Thanks.
Being at the cutting edge of technology, I like to be at least one console behind everyone else.:p

Everytime I try to use this link it says the page cannot be found -_- what gives?

my son's xbox 360 gold sub expires at the end of the year. Am I able to purchase this now and redeem/renew at that point in time? thanks

EDIT: Just re-read original post:
'Before anybody asks, you can add this to your current Xbox Live membership and it will stack up!' presume that means yes

Risky? Absolute hogwash.

As with anything people buy - they just need to read the instructions first (like the ones for the 360 below):

The parental controls on Xbox are very good. I have them set up for my 10yr old daughter.

I should really cancel my monthly sub and get this. Thanks

That's because you're fairly knowledgeable. A lot of parents want nothing to do with their child's games console. They see it as just a toy and don't understand what a lot of modern games are like.

Thanks for this
