Nice 1, not for the fact you broke down but for the good service.

Yep - Only had to use them twice in about 8 years, but they do what they say they will.
Less than £40 for full recovery to a place of your choice plus home-start for you and your partner.
Highly recommended.

Hasn't it always been this price direct from Auto-Aid?

possible £10 cashback via topcash for a new signup at groupon

Twice in 8 years, so wouldn't it have been cheaper to not have breakdown cover and just pay for those two-off breakdowns...

Great company - isn't it only £42.54 without groupon though?

I haven't had to call them out at all in a similar amount of time but am happy to pay £39 a year for peace of mind. Cheap price for what you get.

Other breakdown companies will cover you. You just pay them on the spot. Circa £150 for a call out for the big names. Obviously local ones will be cheaper. This is just another form of insurance that people like you are happy to pay for without realising they are being ripped off. I have a rule, only ever pay for a product or a service (nothing speculative), except car/buildings insurance as that's legally required. Keep paying if you like the peace of mind of course

you need to pay and claim, if you are short on cash or credit card maxed out not the best policy

You have to pay the recovery firm and then claim back from Autoaid:
"Claim information
AutoAid is a pay and claim breakdown cover scheme. You will have to pay for costs and expenses yourself, safe in the knowledge we will reimburse** any amounts covered by this insurance in approximately 14 days."

£29.25 using code NEW25

Very good customer service, insures you and spouse, not the car.
Used them twice, easy claims process.

I don't think building insurance is compulsory, so I guess you could have been self insuring all those years?

Great company. Used it once. Paid up within a week.

Great company, highly recommended. Why people would use RAC/AA/Green flag over these is beyond me.

building insurance isn't a legal thing. though it may be compulsory with your mortgage, and IMHO its worth it (not contents)

on the car cover. I think it depends purely on the car. i totally agree with you on a newer car. waste of money. but on an older car (my newest car is 16years old and 160k miles. I think its definitely worth the 'piece of mind' definintely would take the 150£ risk on a newer car though.
i'm just glad they don't ask you how old your car is, or how many miles. this way all the people you describe are keeping my breakdown cover price down

Is that directly with Autoaid

Used once so far, got a flat tyre but could it get the wheel off the car had seized on. Bloke got to me within 30 mins and smacked the thing off. I was going to put then spare on but he insisted. Didn't get charged for his time either. I assume you get charged if they have to tow you. Great service

If you've got a mortgage then the lender insists you have buildings insurance, not sure if it is a legal requirement though. But if it's a condition they insist on then you will have to have it

Thanks ill have a look :-)

I broke down in Nottingham and was towed to my house near Loughborough in the evening. The next day the car was then towed to a garage in Loughborough. I didn't pay up front in either case. It may depend on the breakdown company they get to rescue you I guess.

This is via Groupon. I think the code WELCOME works too. New customers only (or at least new accounts only..)

Depends how far you need towed. I ended up crossing a few counties once and I can't remember what the guy said it would have cost me if I didn't have breakdown cover but it was a lot. He himself was getting a nice bit of overtime for the trip.

but its more like breakdown insurance, carnt be sure when it will happen but just one breakdown could cost u five years cover in towage lol

Highly recommended. I was towed from Edinburgh to Arbroath on a Sunday evening - 75 miles. No questions, and nothing to pay upfront. I'm sure the driver said it would have been something like £250 for the distance...

It is where I live. Part of the service / management fees (not to be confused with contents insurance). And nothing to do with mortgage.

Not always the case, I didn't yesterday with a recovery from liverpool to kent.

Previously I have made a claim for locking my keys in the car and I forgot to send of the paperwork ...... the next year I got a letter telling me they checked and I did not claim and they enclosed a check for the money!

Good product but cold deal, I have paid £39 a year standard price for the last 5 years or so, never been near Groupon, just bought it direct with AutoAid.

Awesome! Bought it.. Thanks op

Peace of mind for a little price, heat added.

By far the best breakdown cover for the money,Anyone who doesn't have any breakdown cover is a bit silly,Breakdown on the motorway and you'll wish you had.

I have had cover with Autoaid previously and they are very good. However, got cover with KwikFit now for £27 and £6 cashback through TCB, includes home start.

Where and when do you apply the WELCOME or NEW25 codes ?
I've tried both in the box here but neither work
