12 months free warranty in addition to suppliers 12 month guarantee

Nationwide offer an additional 12 months guarantee on top of the manufacturers 12 months when you pay for items using their credit card.

This has been in place for a while but I though it would be useful to share.

The info on the Nationwide web site isn't very clear but most things over £50 are covered.( compters are excluded) I've covered MP3 players and breadmaker

Check for cover details via pinnacle insurance here

This is news to me. Cheers

so do egg money, but unlike nationwide dont exclude things with hard disks

This also applies to their (Nationwide's) Flex account card (VISA), which has NO CHARGES FOR USING IT ABROAD (E.U., in shops or ATM) and only small charge for non-E.U. Great just for that, but I have 7 items on extended warranty at the moment with it (adds 1 year to manufactuere's warranty, whatever it is)

oh i didnt know nationwide doesnt charge now. i thought they started in 2009. maybe they changed again. what can i say, yay.

They changed from no charge anywhere to small charge outside EU.

Any idea where to read more about this by any chance? I tried looking here but can't seem to find any info. I got the debit flex card and would love to use this offer.

"Nationwide continues to offer "commission-free" foreign transactions.

"Commission-free" means that we do not add any additional charges for exchanging currency which are designed to generate profit for the Society. We do, however, pass on any fee we incur from our card scheme providers for processing transactions in certain currencies (generally those outside of the European Economic Area and Turkey and Israel) other than sterling.

The fee is currently 1.00% and it will be included in the sterling amount shown on your statement.

The list below provides details of the countries for which a fee is charged. To check if you will be charged, please search for the country you are visiting by using the A-Z list. Unless stated otherwise a fee will be charged."

i clicked on random EU countries and they seem to be fee free. thanks OP for highlighting this, and others who have clarified.

This i did not know....so have some heat
