An excellent offer, in my humble opinion. This works out around the same price PS Plus goes for but, you'd get access to hundreds of games on demand on an ever growing library of games with currently 700+ games included.

With the recent announcements from Sony and their investment into growing the PS Now service, I think it is the right time to subscribe. The service allows you to download games on your console or to stream them. It is also enabled for PC users to play via the streaming feature. PS Plus is also not required to play any of the PS Now games online.

Current list of all PlayStation Now Games

  • Hundreds of incredible games on demand - Get instant access to a huge collection of more than 700 PS4, PS3 and PS2 games on PS4 or Windows PC, with new games added every month.
  • Discover your next favourite game - Join PS Now to dive straight into blockbuster hits, PlayStation exclusives, quirky indies and family-friendly adventures from an on-demand library that’s updated every month, bringing you a fresh batch of games to enjoy.
  • Download or stream - Stream over 700 PS4, PS3 and PS2 titles from a wide range of genres to your PS4 or Windows PC. Play as much as you like, save your progress and continue playing on either device. Or pick from over 300 PS4 games to download to your PS4 console and they’ll be ready to play, in up to 4K resolution if you’re playing on PS4 Pro.

Whether you stream or download, your PS Now subscription includes full access to all available online multiplayer modes.

Great deal - heat!

Just a word of warning for anyone planning to download games through PS Now...
When you "buy" (activate) the download version of a game in PS Now, you cannot "buy" it outright until your PS Now sub ends.
This means that you won't be able to activate any PS Plus games or take advantage of sale prices while the PS Now sub is active if you've activated them through PS Now.

I did some testing last night so I know this is definitely still an issue!
To partly work around this limitation, you can create a secondary account for your PS Now sub and your main account will be able to play the downloaded games (as your PS4 will be primary for the new account) but only the PS Now subscriber can stream games so your trophies & friends list will be those of the new account while streaming games.
Sony finally pulling their head out of their ass and improving the value proposition, particularly against Game Pass (though the latter is still much better in my view).
Considering the 3 decent games on their until January this is now a really good time to get the sub

Couldn't agree more, inFamous is awesome.

Heat added, @mixmixi - silly price under £40

has the streaming part got better now do you know?
I will just stick to my unlimited free trials. One thing i recently found out is you don't need ps plus to play online on ps now games, never knew that.

I tried it a couple of months ago and it’s not great. I’ve got a 600/50 connection wired. Some games are manageable but MK10 is awful.
Never really paid much attention to this before but just taken a look.

Definitely not a 'no brainer' like Game Pass but its a much better proposition now.

But...backlog. Not for me at the moment but heat for the deal.
Price drop was long overdue. Even though Sony is owning this generation, Microsoft have been far more generous with backwards compatibility including boosted performance and resolutions on games like Read dead redemption 1. I also agree with other comments on this site that both sony and MS should integrate their streaming services into online subs and just charge a little extra for those interested.

What about trophies? If you earn them in a ps now game will they be synchronised to your account?

Trophies on PlayStation Now

Trophies earned while playing a game on PlayStation Now are saved to the cloud in real time. These will appear in your Trophies list when you sync them with PlayStation Network. - From ps website

I believe, from the link you sent on the other thread, you can contact PlayStation to remove the specific titles PlayStation Now licence to buy the game.

Not idea, but possibly a better option than creating a new account.

That used to be the case but everyone who I've recommended that to recently has said that PS Support are claiming they are unable to remove items from your account any more
It's possible they've been victims of lazy CSAs but I've heard it from 3 people so I'm inclined to believe it.

Confirmed. No idea why Sony can't implement a system like Microsoft that allows you to "buy to keep" games that you're already entitled to (or have downloaded) under a subscription service.

I don't think it really matters in either case, to be honest. The PlayStation Store sales are a merry-go-round, if you have the game on PlayStation Now, you don't really need to buy it, and if you do miss it on sale, it'll be on sale again the following week...

For sales, I agree... but it means that you could miss out on a lot of PS Plus titles throughout the year.
PS Now seems to have (and will continue to have) a lot of PS Plus games so that could add up to quite a few missed, never to be repeated opportunities.

I assume it's still the same if you own part of a package as well. If you own a piece of DLC from a game bundle it prohibits you from the deal. Or if you "own" it in PS+.

I'm sure in these few minimal isolated cases, it would be resolved by PlayStation. I agree with what you're saying, by the way. I just wouldn't want to be attaching a subscription to an account.

I'm not 100% sure if I'm honest. I assume you mean in the same manner as the Resident Evil bundle, which you couldn't purchase if you claimed 5 with PlayStation Plus?

I am pretty sure these issues would be resolved soon. As far as I am aware of, Sony has just started to look back. Things would improve soon and there is a reason why they have started advertising PS Now again. Trust me.

I agree that a 2nd account is far from ideal but if PS Support are being d*cks, it could be the best course of action.
Either that or acknowledge that you're going to miss out on PS Plus games from time to time.

According to this Reddit article, PS Support have been aware of the problem for a while but have yet to deliver a solution...

There's similar issues with Game Pass and playing the games you own after they've dropped off from Game Pass. Believe me, it's not just Sony messing up on that front

If you can't be the best, it's reassuring to know others are cr@p too
Sooooo tempted
My issue with PS Now is that after 3 months games like GoW won't be available anymore wil they?
So you can buy the games and play them on the ps3?.. Such as motorstorm. Are the graphics improved and will it play well with 40mbp broadband?

Especially relevant with the current PS plus offering of TLOU, so I would activate that first through PS plus before getting PS now. Thanks for the heads up

It may take a few minutes, Shopto is legit and code is coming directly from Sony.

Does anyone know if have to activate this straight away? I've got Game Pass until the end of 2020 and it seems a bit excessive to have both on at once!
