nice

still haver a few months to go on mine but hopefully when i need a deal there will be one like this

You can stack them btw

Deals straight from Xbox/Microsoft are always cheaper than the cards. I got 12+1 months for 24 quid from the dashboard and you can now cancel from the website instead of having to phone.

^^ Yeah, the £24 has expired though - this is now the next best

was that the number you called as that is what I was going to call. If not, what number did you call?

I called the 0800 number in the above email

Worked a treat for me.
£26.50 1 year gold 33% off

weird how the sainsburys deal that cost £28 got 605 degrees,, tskk. C'mon savvy shoppers

Just done this and I got 33% off also = £26.50.

My friend tried it (new to live and not got a gold account) and was told that they didn't have any deals on etc ha. I told him to try again giving him the same speech I used....

"I was going to buy Xbox live from a store which I seen that they are currently offering 12 months for £30, but a friend said if i ring M$ direct sometimes you do a better deals"

So he is giving it another go

Heat added.

**Friend Update**

He was told they don't actually sell xbox subscriptions over the phone, He needs to look on spotlight or go on the internet and they have no deals on.

Haha looks like it doesn't work for new customers trying to get live.

Didn't work for me either, I tried explaining how I have been a long term customer and blagging it that way but they just said that they don't give discounts, only support on how to buy subscriptions from the console and from online :(.

Same here.
Been a Gold member for almost 6yrs now.
The cards are always gonna be the better option.
I bought 12 months + 800points for £30 @ BestBuy. Sold the points for £6, making 12 months cost just £24. The same amount select (non-loyal) silver members get it for.
It's best to snap up a deal like that before your subscription runs out. Especially since Gold memberships are stackable

.

Lube up for when it auto-renews though.

would not trust putting my card details on my account after the recent carry on...

I'm guessing yes but will xbox720 use the same xbox live subscription? I.e will it carry over?

It did from the XBOX 1.

As I have posted before, I have called Xbox Live UK and discussed my upcomming subscription. I bought it via the dash for £23.99. It expires in January, I asked them if I could renew at the same price and they said yes and sent me an email. I also asked how the discounts work and the fella I spoke to said "it varies depending on the customer" so no harm in enquiring.

Daily Mail reader?

Xbox Live wasn't hacked. Some douchebags fell for a phishing scam and put their card details into dodgy websites that claimed to be part of Microsoft.

Best advice? Buy a proper paper.

Free xbox live 'weekend' from the 24th to 27th of November. It's listed on the american site and all but once have they worked over here for me. 12am PT on the 24th, that's 8 or 9am our time, I'm not looking it up.

xbox.com/en-…end

just look on ebay i regularly find anuual cards for around this price

will give it a try tonight only got about 1 month left

It's on the dash for me at this price, can I delete my cc details to prevent auto renewal?

where on the dash is it?

and how do you go about deleting your card details once you've bought a item via a credit card? mines up in a few weeks so might as well sign up to this.

The UK one is slightly later (currently working on the page for the UK version). Won't say when it is though since it's not published yet.

You can turn off auto renew via the Live site

I'd rather get a prepaid card then give my credit card to Microsoft.

XBox Live has not been secure the past two months.

Just renewed a few days ago! Thought bug**r!

Rang Xbox, and they have refunded me the difference! Chuffed to bits :{D <- Movember smiley

Must be issued on the dash as an offer to accounts up for renewal as my gold has almost expired.

You are talking about social enginerring where people grab Live details through fake Xbox emails. If people are daft enough not to verify senders, that's their look out - hardly a M$ issue. Let's face it, it's 100x safer than PSN still

Xbox live not hacked? Funny that, I have an outstanding fraud case with microsoft where £90 was spent from my account on another xbox. And I have a couple of mates who also got scammed. Nothing to do with phishing in my case. Best advice: Check your facts

When people say "i renewed from an offer on the xbox dashboard..." where is it on the dashboard.
My live expired in Jan 2012 and I've never ever seen anything pop-up about renewal offers, or any dashboard icon/article about renewal offers, etc.

Where should I be looking on the dashboard for such offers?

Cheers in advance for any help. Thanks.

I just called the 0800 587 1102 number and was told you are only eligible for this deal if you are already on the Gold Membership.
That makes me sad.

Same here. Not £90 though! I don't even have a card registered on my Xbox account (and never will after this) but some of my points were spent. When did you open up your fraud case BarbaraFett? I called about mine on the 8th of October and I'm still waiting to get back on Live

Presuming you're not from the future and mean 2011, the box is connected to the internet right? You can't have missed it, it would have come up on "highlights" or something...

OP, when I read this last night you said they gave you 1200 points too, what happened to that?

I remember using this deal in January. It's not time-frame specific. It just so happens that you're usually able to get a discount to renew Xbox Live Gold as you're membership is approaching it's end. I simply phoned up and quoted a deal that I'd "just missed" on the dashboard, and was told that because I'm a loyal customer, they can give me it for about £24-26 or whatever it was.

Then in the summer, the Xbox website had the 'glitch' regarding Xbox Live Gold memberships, and so I stacked mine, and bought membership up until around March 2014 for about £34.
