These 12 pack of mason drinking jars were £6 a while back but they reduced the price to £4 a couple of months ago (forgot to post deal back then). I just noticed they are still £4 while I was looking for something else on Wilko's website.

Theres more than just drinking that these jars can be used for. You could cover the hole with a label and use as storage jars, use them instead of party bags for your child's party (fill with sweets and toy) or like me, fill with my curries, chillies or stews and put a two piece ball mason jar lid on and heat in my pressure cooker for 1 hour at 15 psi and make my own canned food.

These are brilliant! Bought some few months ago. Used for cocktails at our BBQ.
These make nice cheap gifts if you fill them with sweets and wrap in cellophane!
Used these at our wedding for drinking glasses. Good fun!
Anywhere I can get replacement lids from? Alternatively looking for cheap solid storage for (a lot of) spices and some rice/flour but struggling a bit.

What's the advantage of these over normal glasses that everyone already has?

They come with colour coded straws so it's easier to remember which is your glass and when the lid is on if the glass is knocked over less will be spilt.
You can use them as kilner jars for preserving stewed fruit/veggies and replacement lids are relatively cheap.

Op has written in the description... they can be used in other ways other then normal glasses that everyone has. Personal preference, some may think they are utter rubbish! Others maybe more imaginative and find them useful for something else. I personally used them at a BBQ for cocktails. And also a good idea for party favors: baby shower, birthdays etc

Thanks both, interesting - didn't realise that they had so many uses!
I got a bit too excited and few weeks back ordered 4 cases.. they'll come in handy... for something!!! Lol
They are not suitable for hot drinks according to the label. No way would I use these for making preserves/jams etc. They are not tempered glass and could shatter if used in a pressure cooker or when being used for bottling. Made in China .

Ive had no problem. I have canned over 100 meals, curries, chillies, stews etc. Went camping in Dorset and Cornwall for 3 weeks in August and enjoyed great food every night preserved in these jars. These wilko jar with ball mason lids work out about 60p each, proper ball mason jars with lids are £2 each.

It clearly states on the box " not to be used for hot drinks" You have been lucky, someone else may not be.
