With the price of fruit and veg these days, this is welcome! Lidl have good quality stuff as well. Flyer states, offer subject to availability and available in selected store only.

My local Lidl has had a 70% off fruit n veg for the past month.
And its good quality, I have a lettuce for example that is a week old now, its still fine.
If you know what fresh looks like it will last plenty of time.

This offer moves round the country. it's on Scotland at the moment until Sunday. Next week we've got cheap freezer foods instead.

As an observation, the first time Lidl ran an offer of this ilk it was "50% Off ALL Fruit and Veg" and was bargain of the century. The last few times it's been either "Up to 50%" or "Up to 70%" off "Selected Items" and I notice that the selected items are becoming more seldom each time... In fact this time round it was a particularly rubbish selection too. There was an occasional bargain - Aubergines for 23p each, net of Red Onions for 16p - but a lot of lines were still full price or only had a few pence off.

This deal is prety much always on at my local Lidl. Good deal though.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation there. it doesnt last quite as long as some supermarkets but as its so cheap you basically visit there twice a week and you are sorted

Lidl are great for sweet potatoes!

Selected items only in most stores these days, and it's very easy to offer 50% off an item such as, say, strawberries, when the real reason for the price cut is an increased supply and lower prices generally.

Still cheaper than Tesco and Co, though, and often better quality too.

I love the silly snobby people who look down their noses at LIDL and think they're superior for shopping at Tesco!

I am lucky enough to live near a lidl , I agree if you buy veg for the week from there it doesnt last , but its a great price for using in a few days

Does that mean that all the other supermarkets use so much pesticides etc and lidl dont

I've always found that it last just as well as the main supermarket's veg.

imo i'd rather pay 29p for a cucumber than 70 - 90p in tesko.

No. It means that they don't sell grade 1 stuff.

well im voting hot, i have never had a problem with lidl fruit or veg ( mind you, i do keep it in the fridge) and with 3 little ones to feed ill be buying! spent £2 on a bag of grapes and kids ate them with in 2 days!
Although, only problem i have had once was when a member of staff stood on a big sack of potoats to put a sign up i wrote and complained but didnt hear anything.

I'm quite a fan of Lidl vegetables - good quality and even better price.

I miss the 19p sack of onions though - currently 69p reduced!!

Have to agree, why i wont buy fruit and veg from either aldi or lidl, i just find it a load of rubbish and goes off to quickly.

I think tesco and that lot spray stuff in the air that addles their customer's brains :whistling:

When I was in Scotland I had something that looked like a rotting pomegranate. It might have been Jimmy Somerville.

We find exactly the opposite. The LIDL stuff we buy is top quality (and Grade 1) - every bit as good as tesco, and lasts just as well.

The quality in my local lidl is far better than in Tescos.
