October 4th: Make a note. That's when Insertion Fees will be cut by half for auction-style format listings in eligible categories. Remember, though, it's for one day only. So why not go ahead and make some extra cash?

Have to say have struggled to see where this goes as may be a voucher!!!, but if people could advise, I rarely use ebay, but have recieved this deal and thought it might be a benefit for those members that do, I suppose the timing is good as some will start buying chrismas presents, so great time to get rid of last year ones that did not go down well and maybe selling them will get enough money to pay for this years pressents!!!!!!

Hope it helps

Thanks for the heads up thepharmacist

Thanks edi, looking like a real post now.

Thank you all for the heat, normally I just crash and burn (and freeze) with my deals!!!!!!!

some rep would not go a miss:whistling:

ill use this, got some GC games, freeloader, umds and psp games that people only offer peanuts for on here, but umds and psp games sell pretty well on ebay, as i keep getting outbidded on stuff.

also might put some action figure joblots on, people will be looking for xmas pressies and stocking fillers, so here is my chance lol.

great timing to get rid of some stuff
lets hope for more free listings too

just got the email.. i'll be putting some things on.. i've put so much on a week before this date.. lost out :x

Only problem with these deals is that the market gets saturated by all the extra listings, so you might not get the price for your item that you would if ebay didn't have their special on.

Yep, what good is 10p off your listing when the final price is 30% below what you'd normally get? It's good for speculatively listing items with high start prices, but apart from that, thumbsdown to ebay. Its not like they lose out on the promotion- final fees are their main concern.

 thank you

doesnt everybody registered to ebay automatically get this sent to them in an email
hardly worth bothering posting it is there :giggle:

Listing fees are 10p for 99% of auctions cos people naturally start them at 99p....so you are getting 5 pence off!!!!

YEAH.....THANKS EBAY - Your generosity knows no bounds!!

ebay = devil paypal = more devil.

The fees are a disgrace.

Ebay fees are escalating out of control - and so are Paypals - I cannot believe for the life of me why nobody BIG has set up a rival for Ebay - cant be that difficult surely and they wouldnt need to charge even HALF as much to still make MILLIONS.

They have, spens. But policy amongst the big names- amazon, ebay, etc is to buy any potential future competitors asap. Now, thats a way to make money, and I think amazon will but one of my websites from me in a few years time. Hope so, anyway!

Yep, eBay fee's are way too much!!!

And the Final Value Fee is just ridiculas!!!!!!!!

I mean, just to put this 'pathetic' offer from Ebay into perspective - You list an item for 99p and it normally costs 10p but after this amazing offer they save you the 5p - the item then sells for £200 an the final Value fee is then £7.

So they are in effect saving you WAY LESS than 1 PERCENT of your Total Ebay listing fees.

I dont like swearing and i apologise in advance but - Ebay are a bunch of greedy p1ss taking [email protected] !! - i hate them with a vengeance (can you tell!! haha) - but ironically i use them every day to sell, only because there is no other viable alternative!!

I cannot understand HOW ON EARTH this deal has got a big HOT vote??...People obviously voted before sitting down and analizing exactly what amazing discount they were going to get - i mean, if i put up a deal today for say a 1% discount off BOOTS or AMAZON then i would get laughed out the place - so why when ebay do it does everyone say how great the deal is???

Yeah eBay are a disgrace. How dare they offer a service and have the audacity to charge people for it. Anyone would think we lived in a capitalist society. And while I'm at it... the price of CDs... disgusting... do you know how much they cost to produce? And don't get me started on The Phantom Menace... wooooo!!!!

I do agree that these "special offers" of eBay are utterly worthless to the casual seller but I dare say they might be of some benefit to people who practically earn their living selling on there, listing hundreds of items at a time. But no, not really a hot deal.

Next!

Not the point.

The points are 1) The amount they charge is almost unlwaful and 2) Their so called 'deals' are not deals at all, they are a pathetic way to make it look like they are doing everyone a huge favour when in fact they are just taking the p1ss even more!!

google should really step in. Can't believe they have not done it yet!
