can`t be worst than Nissan dealer who charged me almost 55 and gave list of jobs for a 3k worth of repairs!

Good luck but I bet it doesn't pass.

They'll probably find the wheels need balancing!!

Only trusted local garage or council mot station ...avoid all dealers and garages like National, KwikFit etc.

I've used them the last 5 years in a row and have never had a problem.

take it to a MOT only garage that way its really unbiased or your local council centre.

Thats my philosophy on it. If they are giving a discount MOT then it is because its a loss leader, so they must be confident of finding something to make a profit on... Best bet is a recommended local garage who charge the going rate, want to keep their good reputation and want repeat customers.

Only used national tyre once and never again.

Got a tyre replaced using black circles for MOT..

They told me after replacing the tyre that the brakes need replacing immediately and should be done today.
When I said my car had it's MOT 3 days ago and a full service in both reports from the garage there was no mention of the brakes being an issue they immediately then just said the car is ready for collection.

Absolute cowboy garage and would never go there..

Unless you know the garage, don't take your car for Mot there. Kwik Fit always offer free Mot but then pressure and blackmail to fail Mot unless unnecessary and expensive replacements done. I only learnt this through the hard way so don't trust these offers anymore.

My friend was the manager at a National Tyres Garage. The stories he tells me of what they got up to there are scary!
They get paid bonus on what they sell you up on, needed or not, there not bothered if you ever come back, there is enough cars in the country, just try see everyone once in there life and proper have there pants down!

You would think so but i run independant garage. I tend to use a bit of common sense with mots and give the benefit of the doubt where possible as your meant to as weve built up trust and a good reputation and want people to come back. Nothing worse when soeone comes for the first time and the cars a shed and you get a big fail sheet. Basically theyre unlikely to return Council run test stations dont really care if you come back or not so more likely to be harder on it

Aren't MOT's always half price or thereabouts, the proper list price is £54.85 and nobody charges/pays that.

Nobody pays full price for an MOT these days.

Best garages are those who say "No Pass - No Fee" ... don't bother with anything else.

OH, yes, avoid these cowboys ..... it WILL fail on something made up.

I charge full price. Ive never seen no pass no fee i cant see how that could work. Simple maths tells you they would have to make the money up somewhere.

Agreed. All my tests are done fairly aswell as any other work we do. I also explain the advisories to customers and will try to put people off fixing certain things that have been advised if they dont need doing. My regulars are looked after well and il often do the odd wee thing free for them they appreciate it and know theyre getting a good honest service. Good luck getting that at the dealer or a chain garage

Just passed MOT. First fail as electric shortcut in back light. Guy advised to change bulb as this could be resons behind. Did it, arange retest free of charge. All done and dusted for half of the price.

So recommended.
