Who ever leaves good reviews for supermarket food? I always ignore those ratings

A decent Christmas cake should have a bit more than a dash of brandy to finish.

You could just marinade it to taste. Then you can guarantee the alcohol volume

I enjoy fruit cake, but hate the way they spoil this with the nightmare sugar coating

Free from = Free from flavour unfortunately.

Its sickly sweet and usually dry.
    Bag of sugar is cheaper.

Plenty in the Upton (Wirral) store yesterday, in the aisle with other free-from products. Hope it's of interest to anyone local who needs to buy 'free-from'.
    Heat, OP.
