Great price for a power bank. Never seen these at £1 especially in store. Buy one, it could get you out of an emergency some time.
This was in Belfast but I'm sure it should be national

Good price, but not sure I'd personally trust a £1 lithium battery.
also have these in bargain buys. they charge and work ok . they just have a 18650 battery inside I'm sure the capacity is more than the 1200mah stated on package

My torch and laser takes that 18650 battery. Do you know if it is possible to strip the powebank down and use these battery's?

Are you sure? I thought 18650 batteries are 3.7v and for usb charging 5v is required?
I bought two a couple of months ago. They contain low powered 18650 battery inside. Used the battery for my Cree torch.

They use an inverter to boost up to 5v, unfortunately this is rather inefficient

Yes you could, but for the money you might be better off getting some old laptop battery packs and taking those apart or just buying some cells off eBay which don't have fire in the name. You just need to be careful you don't over discharge the cells, power banks have ICs in them that stop the over charing / discharging after about 4.2v and 3.6v if you don't have that protection IC in your torch or laser then you could damage the cell from over discharging. Use a decent charger and throw recycle them if they get hot while charging that is bad.

yes I bought this as a charger for my 18650 batterys as it switch's off when charged and you use a UK/ safe mains USB charger with it.
Looked for one of these some weeks back!, as per a previous HUKD Posting of this same Device/Kit at PoundWorld some 3-7 days prior to it or so?.

But to this day I've still not found me nowt of these?. :-(

Its a shame really .....

Has anyone come across any of these in East London by any chance? (or any other London Store offerings for that matter too?), or ..... thanx. :-)
seen them in poundworld Bristol (Fishponds store)
Millions of them in china, if any use to anyone?

You'd think that but I took one out and charged it in my XTAR VC4 and it did indeed only take 1200ma of charge.... Was going to use them in my vape mod but given the battery has no writing on it and it only took such a low charge, the drain would be too much for use in anything more powerful. Last thing I need is my hand/face exploding just for the sake of a couple of £1 batteries!!

Don't forget to make it waterproof

I'm guessing you're planning on attaching that laser to a shark's head so waterproofing is essential

I'm guessing your one of them folk that relishes ONLY buying Armani from Harrods rather than realising that wayyyyyy cheaper of exact same thing can also be bought at places like TK MAXX right?.

I do not support slavery, I like to earn and spend accordingly. Poundland buys legally on the face of the poor people that have been made poorer by this kind of legally dubious way to do business

That's obviously important, as I'm assuming the head of a 'Shark' will need itself to be 'Laser-mounted', so its able more effectively see in the dark in the depths of the Ocean, huh?, hahahahaha. :-)

Could not see any in Halifax

Dr Evil must have bought them all
Saw these in Bargain Buys (part of the Poundworld group).

They do seem a bit big for just 1200mAh. A little bigger than the EE Power Banks in fact.

Good deal for the price but I doubt they'd charge my Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 to much more than 25%.

The majority of goods poundland and poundworld sell are from china and are made to order just like most of the other companies. I imagine you have a mobile phone which will have been a product of "slavery" made in china considering all tech is made over their for peanuts in labour.

True, but 25% ot 0% can make all the difference. And it is hard to find a decent charger for a few pounds. My only worry with this would be the fire risk.
Saw these in York on Saturday too
I'm sure these have to be CE approved to be sold on the shelves - a high street retailer wouldn't risk a huge fine otherwise for a small bit of profit. I found some of these the other day and bought a few, perfect for chucking in a pocket or bag as an emergency charger.

A couple of years ago Poundland had those USB AA batteries and there was a slight risk of some sort - within hours they were removed from the shelves and never sold again.
CE marking means nothing unless approved by a notified body. As this device falls under the low voltage directive 2014 a notified body is not required so to get a CE mark you would self certify which means let's put it in the market and wait to see what happens!. in my line of work if an electrical product comes from China with a CE mark it stands for China Export!

Poundworld fined £190,000 for selling faulty phone chargers and THOUSANDS could be at risk

But (like me), use with caution now .....
