Based on a cutting-edge new architecture, Vertex 2 Solid State Drives raise the bar once again and deliver unprecedented performance for the complete gamut of gaming and professional multimedia applications. OCZ designed the Vertex 2 to surpass the competition where it counts most, pushing the limits in both sequential and random read/write rates. With spectacular performance in 4k file writes up to 50,000 IOPS, these latest drives take productivity to the next level with over ten times the performance of the previous generation. Using the latest controller technology, Vertex 2 not only provides a faster, more responsive PC experience, but promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives.

With sheer performance that outpaces the competition, the Vertex 2 doesn’t lose sight of what makes an SSD the ideal storage alternative to hard drives and delivers the quality, reliability, and durability demanded by consumers that will not settle for anything but the best. Built with SATA 3Gb/s, the Vertex 2 Series easily integrates into today’s mobile and desktop platforms and features TRIM support to optimize performance over the drive’s lifespan as the ultimate Windows 7 notebook or desktop upgrade.

I have one of these. Have rma-ed it twice and the replacements just died too!

I would order it if it wasn't for the stupid 20 posts on AV forums thing.

Pretty Sweet, 160gb+ for under £100 then I go ssd

you just have to be a member now afaik, no minimum posts. i think it can take a day for the accounts to "link" though.

£1 / GB seems to be fast approaching. Think I will stick with my Crucial C300 till it is more like 50p / GB though.

is this better than the vertex 2?

good ssd and a cheap price too, i've got this ssd in my lappy super fast and extended battery life, hot, hot, hot

Got a 60gb one last week from Scan for my OS. Set it to run in AHCI mode and did a benchmark using Atto. It flies. Windows from Bootup to OS screen in under 25 secs!

It's the same except the "E" stands for extended (so the standard Vertex 2 was 100Gb but this one is 120Gb)

I paid £215 for this a couple of months ago, its been excellent so far!

Indeed thats what I did a couple of months ago. It was dead simple. If I want to return unwanted product to their store in Bolton there is no charge or fee either to cover their 'free next day delivery cost', which is brilliant!

Click Today Only (or click the link you have been given) scroll down to Storage and you will find the 120GB OCZ Vertex 2E for £162.14.

What's the warranty on these and are Scan to be trusted?

I've dealt with Scan for years, never had any problems.

How do you link up the AV forums and Scan then?

You have register at AV Forums, spam it with 20 useless messages then click on the Scan free delivery icon on the main page where there is a link to click.

Got the 60gb version, verr nice

If eligible for free postage the Patriot Inferno over at Overclockers is tempting too for £155.09. As the price is held for a week, may be Scan will reduce this further to match.

Isn't the Patriot Inferno far inferior to this Vertex 2E?
