How can I run a laptop on 8 AA batteries - surely they aren't gonna last long?

be careful to check output voltage, current rating and connector of the laptop, this is not suitable for all, a lot of HP's spring to mind.

the 300w is on my chrismas list

i trust it works for toshiba a350-20q no problems? the rating on the power adapter is 6.3A, 19v.

With an inverter, you go from DC to AC and then back to DC, rather than just DC to DC. The latter is much better.
