Feels like a decent price for a fair bit of potatoes - just in case.

We love our potatoes so much, we use packaging that protects them from the light to keep them in tip top condition

Great for mashing, For mash, microwave, steam, boil, roast and bake

Hope it helps someone.

I don't think people realise that unwashed potatoes will stay good for ages - they will see you through eg an epidemic. For long term storage they need to be unwashed.

Washed potatoes will go off much faster.

They sell washed potatoes?

As do most supermarkets! For most read all.
Plus how does having a window in the bag protect the potatoes?

Nonsense - I just had Morrisons potatoes tonight and they were fine. They might be rubbish where you are from, as they source them locally in many cases, but they're not universally so.
These mystery potatoes from Tesco are 10% cheaper, at 0.36/kg, and they are probably washed.

Also, these are the same price per unit at Morrisons and don't require as much washing:

Time to stock up!

Those tesco ones are the “perfectly imperfect” ones i think

On the tesco site if you search for potaotes and filter by lowest price it comes up as perfectly imperfect potatoes for 90p only recently added in the last couple of days.

Thanks, I didn't know that.
I like the window to prove they are unwashed else, what other purpose does it serve?

What do you mean 75% of the nation? I don't see a link anywhere for this?
12.5kg of potatoes............and 2kg of mud ?
compadre12/03/2020 20:26

To let the air in but to keep them longer store in a cool dark place and pop an apple in.
Blurigard i have made you an appointment at specsavers for an eyesight test hahaha
I would far prefer to buy unwashed potatoes as they are often really bruised and also the mud helps them keep longer.

Same applies to carrots, which the supermarkets seem to think have to be just about frozen in their cold store and again they don't keep nearly as well.

Rant over
