I believe the back of the phone is made by harvesting the sweat from the brow of Amazonian virgins, mixed with the hair from Unicorn manes, this is then blended with very finely ground unobtanium to form the cheap plastic back of the phone.......
jjabbar09/07/2019 09:34

where do we find the code?

Oops shall update, I'm going to sit in a darkened room and think about what I done!

How's the 9T, mate? You'll have to go into detail, it's all I have left

Literally just got all of my apps installed on it, logged in and setup. Slapped Nova on it for now as the lack of app drawer was pishing me off... I'm a blank home screen kinda guy.

My measuring stick is based off of an S8+, here are my thoughts:

Build quality, equal to the S8+. Feels great in the hand, the materials are excellent, the phone chassis feels strong. Good weight to it.

Screen, easily as good as the Samsung for me. Playing some 1080/60 HDR video shows crisp accurate (punchy but not overly so) colours. The bezelless design really is nice coming from the S8. Seems more than bright enough also.

Performance, hard to say so far, but everything is as I would expect for a new device. Snappy and very quick in operation. Time will tell, but I'm very happy thus far.

Speaker, head and shoulders above the S8+, very loud from what I'm used to and doesn't seem to easily distort. It surprised me.

Fingerprint sensor, seems to be very accurate so far. Takes perhaps a little longer than I'd like, but that may improve with time and my use of it. It makes sense versus a rear sensor which can be a pain to locate.

MIUI, actually really like a lot about it, and if it weren't for the lack of an app drawer, I'd have had no need to use Nova. The dark mode is a good touch particularly for OLED.

Camera, I'll need to spend some time with it, but immediately loving the ultrawide, super useful addition. Selfie can is novel, fairly quick to open but clearly longer than I'm use to.

Battery, I'll come back after a few days of use.

Gearbest, great introduction from me, arrived in exactly a week. item as described, well packed in an air packet thing, the box was unopened and undamaged, the included adapter seems OK.

Summary, for £250 I'm actually staggered by the quality of the device. It's the first mid-range phone I've ever bought after typically buying flagships on good deals and keeping them for 24 months, this feels as good as any flagship I've used.

Happy camper 😃

I ordered just a couple of hours ago with the code too, but it came to £248.88 without the insurance.
A massive £4.08 difference!!!11!

Oh well, at least I have someone to wait this out with.

How long did everyone else wait?

Hoping for an email saying... X stops away.

Sounds like it will work it's way out but still leaves you waiting on the bloody phone. In the end it was good old Yodel who ruined the party. Hoping you get a swift resolution mate

I'm going around in circles

Yodel is asking me to ask Gearbest to start a refund process.
Gearbest is saying they don't need to, as the tracking number says my item has been delivered.
Yodel say they cannot change the delivery status of my item to 'undelivered'

PayPal have also asked Gearbest, who just say that the item has been delivered.

This is all despite Yodel admitting that they have no idea where my package is.

So, I've no mobile, and no refund. Driver has done me good, despite the CCTV footage I have.

Its not stuck.

Its in transit, but the tracking wont change until it lands in the UK. You'll get all the updates in a rush, keep an eye on it, I think it takes a couple of days from arriving at the airport

Spoke too soon suddenly got Yodel email this morning saying it's been put through letterbox! Will hope it's there when I get in from work soon.

Seems they changed the tracking number but didn't let me know, looked at Yodel email one and it basically picked up the tracking from previous number given by Gearbest.

Hi guys, got mine just now!

Yeah I ordered mine on the 11th, had the same updates as gypson until the other day when it was sent up north and now back to London today.

Phone is pretty good but ain't got a good screen protector on it yet as the one one I ordered off Amazon is rubbish.
No updates still.

Yodel will only compensate Gearbest, because it was Gearbest who instructed them to deliver. Yodel's customer is Gearbest, therefore only Gearbest can claim any compo.

Gearbest say it's nothing to do with them, because the system says the item has delivered. So far, they are unwilling to contact Yodel.

Yodel want me to convince Gearbest to contact them.
Gearbest want me to chase up Yodel.

PayPal have closed my claim with them, because the seller can prove the item has been delivered.
If yodel is willing and to change the delivery status to "missing", it would fix everything. But they won't do that.

My honest review:
Screen is great. Value is great.
The front camera on the Mi 9T, despite mechanically coming out, is faster than all my previous selfie phones to turn on and the image quality is great. Battery seems great but will see as days to on.

Negatives:
I'm coming off OnePlus 3 and while that phone is 3 years older, the OnePlus 3 actually has better loudspeaker and camera stabilisation and faster fingerprint unlock.

I don't like the headphone jack on the top. Looks very messy when charging at same time.

The MIUI is awful as I can't uninstall the included apps, and I have to download duplicate Google copies of the apps like Clock and Calender just to get the correct Widget functionality (ie: the MIUI version or Calender widget doesn't show the days business at a glance and neither does the MIUI Clock allow a digital version only analog??)

AR CORE is still not supported yet, which means AR camera in apps like Pokémon Go aren't usable. Shame!

But definitely worth £240
Ordered 23rd July, received 5th August.
Amazing.
Nice - I ordered on 12th July, not had any status changes since 19th July

Mine also hasn't changed status since 19th, maybe we are in same slow batch!
Any chance delivery could've been attempted but the tracking hasn't been updated?
Mine has been delivered, but the tracking hadn't changed on the link they provided since the 26th.
It even still says it's "in transit" now, but the phone was under my doormat when I got home yesterday.

I have a feeling this may have happened to some people. I also ordered screen protectors (tried them all none lay flush properly with the screen they bubble up around the edges) and a few cases. This came in a separate package much later and delivered although not stated on tracking.
Got this email/ticket from them yesterday -
We are extremely sorry to inform you that the delivery has failed. The parcel was lost during transportation. Unfortunately, in cases like this the shipping company is responsible for the loss.

As a gesture of good will we can offer 3 solutions to resolve the issue:

1) Resend your order out immediately
2)Refund your parcel in full to your wallet.
The money will be in your Gearbest account with extra points within 1 business day.
3)Refund your parcel in full to your original payment account.

Have asked for option 1 and they have responded saying they will ship it out.
What a pain, hopefully will get it in the end though!!
Really sorry to hear that, glad to hear they are sorting it out for you

I ordered on the 11th, upodated until 18th with 'arrived at airport'. After about 2.5 weeks of this I contacted GB and they admitted that the order was lost by the carrier...

Have reshipped one now with a different tracking code (starting MN) that appears to have not been scanned yet as gives 'package not found'.

Lets hope that 2nd time round we can get a bloody phone out of this!

If others have also had no update in several weeks perhaps it was a whole batch mislaid?

Just saw this comment - ditto with mine. Most annoying thing is that a mate bought his on 23rd (while I sat smug thinking he was miles behind) and has now received his (took 8ish days)!
