Good price, though is this a seller where you are more likely to get Vat charged?

Yeah, around £18. Which will rule out the customs.
I wonder if people use the insurance and tariff insurance options with banggood?
Voted hot
bought this on amazon for 450 and its absolutely worth the money. 64GB was 399 if you dont need the 128
Went for this in the end. Thanks!

For the record, my TCB tracked at £20.02.

Holding out for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 with similar cameras to Mi8, it's all about the notchless future!
Yes few releases this month. As this is on Pre-Order, might wait a bit on this, does anyone know or can find out when the discount code will expire?

Seems like a great phone...if only it had a higher res screen though. 1080p and 6.4 inch are not great for my eyes, particularly if it's an OLED.

It's 19.5:9 aspect ratio so doing the maths it's equivalent to a 5.5 inch display on 16:9 ratio from a width perspective, 1080p is perfectly acceptable.

The next Oneplus 6t will have exactly same screen size and aspect ratio likely 1080p
I got the 64GB for the sister around this price - so good deal. She loves the phone.

Customs got us for £11.37.
With the tariff insurance Banggood refunds this.

For many, yes.

I said 'for my eyes' because for me (and some others), if it were LCD it'd be fine, but on the Note 8 (and even S8) with a far higher pixel density I see an annoying pattern in some colours & greys due to the PenTile matrix OLED arrangement. The high resolution makes it not too annoying on the note 8, but I didn't enjoy the P20 pro largely due to this issue.

Anyone figured out how to get NFC working with payment apps on this phone?

Have you tried tapping the phone against the card reader?

Official Global rom that hasn't been rooted or bootloader unlocked should work, see thread.
I've read that the Xiaomi Roms are coming with adverts built in. Is there any truth of this? Has anyone experienced the ads?

No ads in my mix 2s.

I had ordered the Mi 8 but cancelled after reading about the ads. Apparently it is part of Xiaomi's strategy to introduce ads via software updates. If this is true then it could be possible that your phone could get ads when you update it. Hopefully negative publicity will stop them from doing this.

How is the WhatsApp video on Mix 2s? Do you have to flip the phone 180 degree?

Yeah you do mate.
I have bought Xiaomi phones in the past.

When using them in my home where the internet is protected by an edge firewall, I get alerts from the firewall that the phone tries to connect to remote servers not classified as safe. Sometimes the IPs are in china and others in US. My firewall blocks these requests on IP reputation and classification basis.

There is something surely suspicious inside the ROMs on these phones. Dont get me wrong. The hardware is great for the price but i have my doubts on what is running in the background.

If we can flash these with other roms or vanilla andriod then would surely recommend.

Someone said Banggood refunded just under £4 and about £8 for Royal Mail Handling Fee was not refunded by Banggood under this tariff insurance. Did you get all of your £11.37 refunded by Banggood?

Pay with credit card that be your insurance. Your bank will dispute if they can't provide tracking saying it was delivered no need to 0ay for it
I'd rather have two redmi note 5's sellotaped together!
Has anyone actually had theirs (the black one) shipped? Shipping date was yesterday and nothing, at least in my case.

I emailed them and got a (understably) broken English reply with "shipping deadline 19th November" within. Not sure whether that's the new estimate or some sort of actual deadline.

But disappointing so far, especially as I'm currently on an awful old phone while I wait, but it's a good price and I'm not sure I want to muck about with refunds.
