Phones4U could not confirm if that is going to be simfree handset they provide. However, Dial-a-Phone confirmed that it will be simfree.

Great Deal I think and as always happy to share. £123 for such specs is awesome.

Dial-a-phone is Phones4U.

Phone s 4u told me that the phone is unlocked

The price should be without cashback as quidco/tcb is not guaranteed

Only 8gb so not really much good as will soon be full with content..

Have they given you a delivery date?

So why don't they say sim free on the advert?

Most phones comes unlocked these days.... Not to sure about the 3 Network

is this 4g?

Sorry this is only 3G at the moment. But other than having a little smaller screen with 3G, the specs compare to Google Nexus 5, but with less than half the price. Thanks

Are you sure? I thought the specs were closer to those of the typical Chinese import.

Will this have network branding etc? I don't want to have to wait months later for updates compared to SIM free.

It's bareback google. No sim lock from Phones4u or dialaphone and no 4G.

i would stick to phones4u as personally i think its safer and the warranty is more secure

The specs compare to the Nexus 5?

RIght...

1080p screen, LTE, 4 x 2.3Ghz Krait 400 cores with Adreno 330, 2GB RAM, 8MP camera with OIS, Android 4.4 already, made of soft touch plastic.

vs

720p screen, HSPA+, 4 x 1.2Ghz Cortex A7 cores with Adreno 305, 1GB RAM, 5MP camera, Android 4.3 and made of plastic.

Price is £295 for Nexus 5 16GB vs Moto G at £130 (16GB £??).

The Moto G is worse than the outgoing Nexus 4, although great value for money considering the Nexus 4 8GB sold out instantly at £160 a couple of months ago.

Go into any phones4u shop and you'll most likely find one.

You also forgot the Moto G's 4.5" screen vs. Nexus 5's 4.95" screen, and the ppi differences, 329 vs. 445 respectively.
So overall, there's not that much difference between the phones.

this doesn't even compared to the older nexus 4...let alone nuxus 5...

Compared. Nuxus
Your the one giving the wrong information

Bear in mind the Moto had far fewer pixels to push around, so it's doing a third of the work in the graphics department than if it were full HD. By all accounts it's pretty snappy. I didn't see many people complaining about the specs of the Galaxy S3 or the Nexus 4.

Hardly comparable to the premium Nexus 5, but certainly comparable to the 4.

And supurb value. Just my 2c.

Ordered! thanks OP

Comparable to the N4 as apart from 1GB versus 2GB, 4.5" instead of 4.7" IPS LCD, HSDPA 21Mb versus DC-HSDPA 42Mb, 5Mb versus 8Mp camera, No NFC versus NFC, 720p video recording versus 1080p video recording, Adreno 305 versus Adreno 350.

So er you'd get the N4 over the Moto G anyday but of course the N4 is not on sale new anymore.

The Moto G does have a few features over the N4, but on the whole the N4 is the better phone >

gsmarena.com/com…048

I personally don't think they're comparable, the Moto G would be called an N4 lite in my opinion if you wanted to compare it.

Edited by: "fishmaster" 14th Nov 2013

Are you sure the Moto G screen isn't IPS? That'd be shame, otherwise for the price point it would have been very good.

edit:

Looks like review sites are saying it is not. Pocketlint are saying the difference is quality between the Nexus 4 and Moto G screen very noticeable. I suppose you can't have everything at £130.

The problem is that with the slowish processor and non-ips display in this phone, motorola need to release the higher end moto x if they want to keep a decent reputation in the uk.

In short, In some tests it's beaten the S4. This is a cracking phone for a great price.

- No NFC
- No memory card expansion but you do get 65GB of cloud storage for free for 2 years
- No IR blaster
- No 4G support

All of which are not deal breakers to me. I hope to get this phone real soon.

nice phone

how does it compare with
Alcatel One Touch Idol S

Grohller

punch myself in the face so hard for buying an xperia SP this week :-(

Xperia SP is LTE (4G) though, has a better screen, much better camera, NFC and a MicroSD slot.

I suspect the Dual Core 1.7GHz Krait 200 is better than the Quad A7 in the Moto G too but as I haven't used the G at all or the SP much I couldn't say.

This phone is the cheapest quad core android on thr market thats not noname chinese. Dont compare it to anything else unless its similar specs and price. We know that the nexus was better but it was not 130ish when it was released.

It has on screen buttons which eat into the display, apart from that looks good, tempted
