Yea sorry mate I was commenting as you was - looks like a great deal

Not to be confused with Li-ion batteries!

Seen that this morning...26 quid,i wonder if it's time to try and start the old XR2 up.

Purchased one to fire up my old midland CB radio.

Until I read your comment I thought this was a lithium-ion replacement for a lead acid car battery. Turns out it's a lead acid battery but the brand name is lion.

Plus side it'll fit in cars from my new company, Fully Electric Cars. We make diesel powered monster trucks.

Been for ages at this price

good price

good price but terrible battery, hold on to your receipt. the lion batteries tend to go within first 12 months

Agreed. I wouldn't buy this for any car I was planning to keep, but might be ok to keep an old banger running for another year.

Yep. Terrible battery brand.

Terrible or not it comes with a 3 year warranty and is near double this price on the net.
It is only 40amps but fit it to the right car and it should be fine unlike the Mercedes ML that I noticed had one fitted last year. oO

Yep. Terrible battery brand.

What a load of carp, a lead acid battery is a lead acid battery, theres very little difference between the cheap and expensive brands.
I have had one on my car for years, and noticed no difference between the lion and the expensive yuasa battery that it replaced (the yuasa one failed after only 3 years btw!)

Your comment is just brand snobbery in all its glory

Actually there is a difference, you don't have to go by the brand name, just check the Ah and CCA, the higher they are the better the battery.

It's all very well having a receipt and 3 year warranty, but when it fails and you can't just drop it off where you bought it from, you'll have to pay to post it back, which I bet will be quite expensive.

I would suggest you are better off getting one from euro car parts with a code, if you're a member at Costco they do good quality bosch ones at good prices, and they certainly won't argue if it fails, straight swap for new.

My Lion battery went dead last week after just 2 years, but luckily kept the receipt and Euro car parts did a straight swap.

Where were you 3 days ago when I had to buy a new battery for my wife's car and paid a good deal more?!? oO Actually I'm torn - it is delivered today so do I send it back and get one of these or just say what the hell and eat the extra cost given the debate about the reliability of these batteries anyway?

Would be wary using these as they have a 3 to 6 weeks warranty claims process even on brand new parts that don't work. Had a nightmare getting past two customer service guys who told me they couldn't refund or replace a brand new item and that they didn't recognise the consumer act. Eventually sorted by a manager but would rely on the warranty:(

Definitely worth making sure this battery is going to be suitable for what you need it for/ car it's going in to as the spec on this wouldn't last long in my 2l diesel. Look at more amps and more CCA as a rule of thumb.
