Anyone have any luck with these? I had one a couple of year ago and it still didn't stop the car in storage from going flat.
2,5 Watt !! - At full power this will charge a battery at 0.2 Amps. It will take weeks to charge a flat battery and slightly better than nothing with it at full power. Dont waste your money.
I have a solar powerbank (admittedly a cheapie) and it hardly charges at all from sunlight, even on the sunniest days in July.
(I also have solar panels on the house with a much larger area than this device and some winter days I barely get anything from them)
I have one of these, in the summer it kept the battery topped up with a dash cam running but no joy in the autumn and winter months. I bought a bigger more powerful one from Amazon that does the job
Consider that it's 2.5watts at max performance, so that's midday sun during the summer.... I dare say during winter it'll be a fraction of that, so maybe 0.5 watt or less on an autumn or winter's day, and a short day at that.

Do people clip these direct to battery or use the cigarette socket I wonder? - possibly a cig socket won't pass electricity back into the battery from the panel.

It might be useful if you have a caravan or car battery in the shed to power a light, this might help top it up but it'll be very slow to actually charge it.

READ WHAT IT SAYS

Suitable for maintaining charge in a wide range of batteries and power packs.

Not for charging a flat battery. I have on and it works well, good price.

Thats fine - each to their own - if you want to MAINTAIN a battery and NOT use it this item is exactly what you need.
2.5 watts of EXTREME power - should come with a disclaimer as in the wrong hands it might even cause a spark (only a small one)
I have one of these and it works well for a vehicle that I don't use often. Without it, the alarm drains the battery.

So I then disconnect the battery, but it eventually dies anyway.

Leaving this plugged in, direct clipped to the battery, I have no issues.

I think this is a fair price and will be buying another one.
