3 packs of the stuff, enough for a 5.1 system... better than most of the stuff out there, price includes delivery.

Fifteen- gauge speaker cables improve power transfer and sound accuracy over higher gauge cables. The recommended minimum gauge for smooth sound reproduction is 18 gauge; the longer the cable length and the larger the amp, the heavier the gauge required. This PureAV Flat Speaker Cable hides easily along baseboards and under carpet with its thin, flexible design.

Features:
Delivers better audio clarity and a more natural sounding midrange with superior grade, 99.99% purity copper conductors
Generates better high frequencies and a more realistic stereo image using precision formulated polyethylene dielectric material
Creates precise contact and increased durability with 4 corrosion resistant, 24k gold speaker pins
Length: 9M / 30 Feet

Not bad, very tempted.

Just to clarify, that's 27m worth of cables with 24 pins in all...

Yes to clarify it's £3.49 per set (9metres with ?? connectors).
£2.99 P&P per order - takes some time to browse around to find stuff though.
Don't forget the Quidco opportunity too.
The item is
BELKIN-01346 Pure AV by Belkin 15-Gauge Flat Speaker Cable & Pins 9m AV23000ea30 @ £3.49
There also seems to be a VERY similar version "AV23000qp30" at £4.99 - dont understand the difference. Think that might just be a continental Europe packaged version?

They're basically the same thing. I've ordered the cheaper one and will post a photo when done

Have to compliment BigOffers on their service - got my 5 items (sub £10 inc P&P) - ordered at 5pm on Monday, delivered nicely boxed by Citylink today, with an overnight email with the tracking information. The Belkin isn't quite as 'flat' as I had perhaps imagined, but are realistic thickness and certainly going to be a lot better under the carpet than current twin/round cable = excellent. No instructions re the end plugs but appears to require a pretty small allen key on a small grub screw in the plug (the black cover just pulls off).
Thanks OP!

Anyone knows how to connect the cables to an AV receiver. The plugs are not proper banana plugs. They are actually thinner... You get 4 black and 4 red with each set...

Superb, went for this and the subwoofer cable.

Is anyone else having problems with the banana plugs? Standard is 4mm I believe. Planning on ordering, but not if I will have to buy more plugs too. From the photos, the cable looks flat, can you use the screw type terminals instead?

Kind of.... That said, I think that the plugs will be redundant for me as my Tannoys can only connect to cables by screws...

Mine will be going into my Tannoy SFX too... so they fit OK?

Is this cable any better than the thicker speaker cable maplin sell?

They aren't banana plugs, they are speaker pins. They are designed to be inserted into the binding post the same way as bare wire, you then tighten the binding post around them.

Bare wire is still the best way to connect speaker cables.

I'll stick with my 79 strand cable, this looks poop

You sure they aren't 3mm banana plugs, as opposed to the "normal" 4mm flavour ?

I know nothing about speaker cable quality but from what I understand it can have a big impact on the sound quality of your set up. Is this stuff quite good then or is it just really basic stuff that would be wasted on a expensive amp and speaker set?

Most of the 'expensive' stuff is just snake oil. This is about as good as you will get or need. Twin and Earth mains cable and Cat5 network cable are about the best speaker cable you can use, and it is practically nothing a metre. Don't believe the Monster Cable salesman standing around in Dixons.

Does anybody know if this stuff is better than Radio Shack flat 14 AWG OFC pure copper high definition wire?

Go for 79 Strand in B&Q, spend more in a hifi shop for no improvement other than a placebo affect, spend less on bell wire and there is a noticeable drop in performance

i bought an onkyo amp and canton speaker set from richer sounds the other month and only purchased the cheapest speaker cable they had. i should notice a big difference with these, when i get round to lifting the carpet up!!
i've already noticed a huge difference with the sub by using the pure-av RCA cables from BigOffers.

Never mind I bought some anyway, though I would imagine it to be better than Radio Shack wire. I also got some pink and orange flip flops, component leads and Dora the explorer wallet
