I saw that this was going for £149.99 in the mega Argos thread and I actually purchased it this morning for £139 at AO. 6% Quidco

Reviews on this are pretty solid and I needed a silver soundbar to match our new silver TV, so it was a great deal for me.

I don't see why not. They usually give size guides so people don't buy a soundbar that's a lot bigger than their tv (e.g 32" tv with a 44" soundbar) which wouldn't be a problem with a 65" screen. As long as your TV has an optical or HDMI (ARC) port then you're good to go

thanks buddy

I've got a 42 inch LG 4k tv but it's in black. Shame they don't do this in black but i'm still tempted. Most of the websites state this is better on 43" and above. Anyone tried this on a 42"?

only issue I've got is my TV is Samsung so not sure if compatible

Soundbars should be compatible with all tvs, just make sure you have the right cable. I've got a Sony and I'm sure it will work fine.

This a sound bar man, music have no colour.

Cracking price, great spot OP.

I was all set to buy a soundbar last week, but was rather disappointed with the sound even out of the Sony 600w soundbar.
Sure it's better than the tv, but it left a lot to be desired for home cinema sound. The sound was ok right in front but if you're slightly to one side it wasn't very good.

As you'll probably know the power means very little in terms of quality unless your criteria is for big volume.

Your are also correct in that sound is directed generally in front which does the job for smaller rooms (and generally people who sit in front of the TV).

There are virtual systems like Orbitsound (I have the m10) and yamaha dsp something which uses clever speaker placement to replicate surround sound. It's enough for an 'average user' to give a sense of surround sound in a small package without spending thousands.

Until I can afford lossless and lag less wireless 5.1+ systems I'll probably stick with this as it's much less hassle/effort to plumb in. When I mean plumb in I mean height and distance measurements to speakers, analysing room obstacles and reverb.

Tbh by the time I can afford something like this (and the house space for it to make it worthwhile), clever DSP or virtual sound will be quite good to compete with the traditional systems...

Edit, I went to Curry's and did a price match so I got it from there today

Initial impressions this vs Orbitsound M10,

The ASP feature does some clever sound tweaks (up the speech frequencies and parts of mid range then spikes the lower end for the bass to kick in, gives a clarity and some warmth feel, similar to Bose, I know audiophile will not like this but as an avg user it's what I like to hear).
M10 doesn't have funky settings of the such but feels richer/"wholesome" I dunno what the technical term is, it could also be because it's mutidirectional.

The LG sh5 When on flat setting it lacks mid tones, highs were better. Whereas the M10 has quite muted highs and strong mids I wouldn't say muddled but it doesn't have the crispness of the sh5.

The M10 has subtle lows, as if it's not there but enough to get it noticed. Nice tight sounds imo.

Whereas the sh5 is a bit in your face, think Dr Dre headphones lol, I think I'll need to test it more this evening to give it more chance to shine.

Spacial wise, sh5 when your 40-60 degree off centre sound is quite different...

M10, much better, hardly can tell the difference. It's no 5.1 system, but definitely a nice all inclusive 2.1 system.

Main reason I got the sh5 is my TV is also LG, so I can use 1 remote... also I needed some speakers for my pc build...

Purchased a different LG model (LAS350B) over the weekend that is priced at 75 quid in Sainsburys as I have an LG tv too and the advertised advantage was that it can sync wirelessly to the TV. Initial setup was easy, however following problems have forced me to pack it up and send it back to the shop:
1) Each time the TV is put on standby and then switched back on, the sound settings go back to 'TV Speaker'. This meant that I had to do the pairing each time.
2) After about 15 min, the sound starting dropping intermittently. I have had other wireless connections to the TV from my mobile with no issues. Also the TV uses WiFi with no issues.
Packed and waiting to go back on Saturday!

Anyone else having issues connecting via hdmi arc?

My Samsung TV is failing to recognise, however optical signal is picked up!

Looks like they have now increased the price to match other retailers.

Or you can buy this one for £129.99:

I have a very similar LG soundbar with a 40" TV and it looks great so 42" should also be good.

Bought this yesterday for my parents and surprisingly pretty good sound! Anything is better than TV speakers I guess!

If its not sonos dnt bother

Missed out on this deal but found for same price on Amazon although was OOS - ordered as a punt and got stock notification today. So even though it's back to £199 on Amazon I paid £139 - happy days :).
