I'm not entirely sure of the tech specs of your Dell mini Netbook, as they vary from generation to generation, but I would of thought it would struggle to even play some of the older games on that list due to lack of GPU power. However a quick google returned a website where you can select games and it will do a quick scan of your PC to see if it meets the requirements:

srtest.com/CYR…spx

I tried to test it myself but it wouldn't work in Opera web browser, you may have more joy in Firefox or IE!

thanks!! will be checking it out!

Thanks a lot mate

don't think torchlight will be that demanding on a system (not sure of yer specs), world of goo would certainly run - both will be cheap as chips and are great games though.

of the remaining deals witcher, mass effect 2 (comes with some free DLC on pc - worth checking you get your cerberus network code), world of goo and torchlight are all worth a nosey but these items come up on steam sales a lot as well

Anyone tried purchasing this today or used this website before? as I am trying to purchase tropico 3 but it fails when requesting your tel no in order for them to call you to verify your ok.
Problem now is you have to contact their customer service via e-mail as they won't give a tel no.
Never come across the need to call you to verify your details?????

Update: Wow, contacted me straight away via e-mail and have reset everything as it was a random check, so went through the purchase again and all is ok now.

Hot from me, thanks OP

In my experience with them, you have to remember to drop the '0' from your phone number as they ask for national code (+44) and thus making your number 00447xxxxxxxxx rather than 004407xxxxxxxxx! Hope that helps for anyone else having difficulty.

Glad to hear you got your problem sorted swiftly!

Nice find. Gonna pick up a couple.

good spot

Anyone played Witcher? Any thoughts on it?

I thought it was great but it was rly buggy but I think they sorted that

However it does say windoze7 not supported

Witcher is fantastic, especially since the Enhanced Edition came out (Cleared up alot of the bugs it released with). Also, it definitely works with Windows 7, as I'm currently playing through it on the 64bit version.

well there you go and I just beat Abaddon with my rit :P

Very tempted by the witcher but a couple of questions (for those in the know):

1. Do you get a steam key or do you need to download it using d2d's software?
2. I see Abaddon is running it on win7 - is that with the latest patch that removes DRM?
3. Can you use the 15% code to get it even cheaper? Because Steam sometimes do it for £3.25 so I'm tempted to wait for a steam sale...

TIA

Yesterday I used the 15% code in the basket on top of the sale and it worked. I downloaded DiRT 2 the other day and they gave me a activation key which I used on Steam to add it to my library. So to question 1 and 3 it should be yes, not sure about 2 sorry.

I tried the 15% code and it told me the voucher had expired. I guess I'll wait for it to come on offer on Steam. Thanks for the help JonesyUK.

OK, the advice I got elsewhere is that the D2D version has real trouble with Windows 7 but the Steam version works.

any confirmations people?

edit; guess was too late - hopefully steam will have it up again.
might try torchlight, should be 3.75max. (witcher 75% went off its reduced price though so fingers crossed)

can i suggest leaving a record of the price where you have been writing 'EXPIRED' each day so people can tell whether a game has been lower or not?

witcher is a superb game, an intelligent and mature role playing game - i'm a fan of the books as well and i love that the main character is basically neutral and quite mercenary character that tries not to get involved in the politics of his quest, and there is a lot of politics and people trying to use him (in book at least) and quite a few moral shades of grey rather than just a right/wrong response. combat system isn't great (melee relies on some timed clicking, rest is good) but works well and there is some (not shown) sex but it's more of a subgame and sidequests than mass effect/dragon ages embarrassing and over-dramatic frottage.

go with it, it's cheap atm and will be at least the same price soon enough on steam for the sequels release. the opening castle attack is good rpg and the first village really sells the game - the more you look into a town terrorized by demons the more you realize that they kinda deserve it and the choices you make affect the game more than some points system.

/edit
whoop a bit late, well it will crop up on steam in next few weeks or i will eat my hat. mass effect 2 (make sure it includes cerberus network code - thats a tenner on it's own), world of goo and torchlight are only others i'd look at and while being good deals they are hardly uncommon (as a reminder ME2 is free to anyone buying dragonage 2 and other two are indie games so go on sale a lot)

Damn. Max Payne at £2.45 is a really nice price but I'm scared Steam will have a better deal later on. It's not like I don't have enough games - may hold out for Mass Effect 2 though.

I really enjoyed Torchlight but I'd be loathe to call it an RPG. Diablo clone, yes, ROLE PLAYING game, no.

Nevertheless, a top game if you enjoyed Diablo.

6.25 for gta
dunno if a good price but its above my miserly level i think

edit: looks a good price has ~300 degrees heat in 8hours at just under a tenner (retail)

(more looking seems has been this price in past on steam at xmas)

I voted hot but now I regret... Mass Effect is $9.99 on the US site of direct2drive and £16.99 on the UK site (they're both running the "same" deals). It's definitely a joke.

and? you may notice there is more than just mass effect in the thread?
gotta agree that its a crap deal though - its same price as yesterday as already 50% off!

was going to get gta for a fiver but said my email was in use and would send password reset but haven't 12 hours later.

Registered and tried to buy GTA IV: Complete Edition today, but the telephone verification thing wasn't working when I tried to pay via Paypal. I contacted Customer Support, who then didn't get back to me until after the GTA deal was over (conveniently). They told me it was a fault at their end which meant my account needed 'human verification'. Now I've missed out and they're telling me I can't have the deal retroactively, despite it being their fault, and have given me a £5 credit. I don't want anything else they're offering...**** lol

2.50 for sims 4 (suppose 2.00 with code)
apparently all hotmail messages have been blocked which is why couldn't get password - dunno if this is new or just something i missed.
