About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Smashing price for a Balcony Cabin 14 Night Mediterranean Cruise departing from Southampton 28th January 2023

Balcony Stateroom = £741 (This is the best option as Balcony usually cost hundreds more)
Or £617 Outside Stateroom

Brand New Ship for 2021

33 Dining & bars
6 Theatres & Lounges
5 Pools

The ship is certainly striking. At the heart of Iona's deck plan is the dazzling Grand Atrium, with walls of glass on both sides spanning three floors, filling the space with light and sea views. Polished white marble and gleaming chrome add to the elegant, airy feel, while a curved marble staircase sweeps down into the centre.

The SkyDome is another 'wow' moment at first sight and a first for P&O Cruises, too. An enormous glass dome covers a double-height space on Decks 16 and 17, which serves as a pool, drinking and dining venue by day and a dramatic entertainment space in the evenings. Other intriguing features making their debut include a boutique, four-screen cinema, an intimate nightclub and the first gin distillery at sea.

Do you get served like an all-inclusive hotel at these places? I can just sit next to the pool and order drinks?
Drinks package almost doubles cost of cruise, at £40pppd. This explains it all. cruiselowdown.com/blo…faq

Has anyone been on one of these solo cruises. If so how did you find it? Also did you get the drinks package and if its worth it.
How easy it is to get to the terminal building. Parking or public transport. Im considering it but there is just no information on the website about things.
More details on the P and O site

If you choose the select fare you get free parking thrown in, some on board spending and you can select your cabin during the booking.

If you prefer to travel there by coach Intercruise ad Eavesway travel will take you to the ship and offload your luggage to your cabin.

Trains - short taxi ride from Southhampton central but given the rail strikes this is risky.

Drinks package is £40 per day and you are supposedly limited to 15 drinks per day. But "pay as you" go prices are supposed to be reasonable. cruisemummy.co.uk/po-…us/

Full details of the drinks package is here - you have to pay the full price (less 20%) for anything that costs more than £7

Avoid Cruise Critic site - they will spam you with 3 emails each day and multiple unsubscribe requests go ignored (edited)

I would love to go on a solo cruise. Being ENFJ Meyers Briggs, I love people but need my space alone to recharge

Next to the pool, in January!!!!! It’ll be freezing, Bay of Biscay will be horrendous even for this size ship
Iona's main pool is inside the dome

At this price it might be worth upsetting the wife and hoping she hasn't burnt my stuff by the time I come back 2 weeks after from "popping out for milk"

Any solo ladies booking this? Asking for a friend.
Sure - if you like them well aged

Tempted to book 2 of these 'solo' places for me and the wife. That way we can pretend we just met on the cruise and get along famously - or not if I have too many drinks as she'd probably leave me for some other solo bloke on the cruise!
I was thinking of this too and giving my wife a break from my snoring

Everybody loves to sit outside on their balcony with -3 degree winds at sea...
Won't be that bad in the med

Worth doing some reading about the balconies on the promenade deck before risking booking balcony room on Iona. Outside may be better option.

Booked Cheaper than staying at home with the heating on
As the house freezes over, pipes burst, place is soaking damp.

Not to cause any offence, would this be a cruise with young people or old? Any is it only for solos?
From past experience it will be more over 50's than under. Not just for solo people, but at such a good price I think there will be quite a few,

How long do you get in each town? What time do you usually moor up/depart?

I've never considered a cruise holiday before. (edited)

everything is managed and food is great and rooms are comfy. you generally get from 8AM to 5PM with shuttle buses going back and forth every half an hour

How do you decide on the best deck
It is usually the first from the top or the last from the bottom that you can actually afford
