Thinking hard before booking would have saved you £180
Star Wars Land opens in Disney on 29th Aug, be aware it could have insane crowds. Also, the big showpiece ride, rise of the resistance, won't open until next year.

Crowds were massively under what was expected when it opening in Disneyland California but it's thought the restrictions for annual pass holders and staff kept a lot of people away.

Looking at the other hotel options with the similar pricing, it may also be worth checking the Clarion Inn Maingate. It's slightly closer to Disney but more importantly will avoid the I4 completely (can be hairy doing that at rush hour in the evening). There's also a Golden Coral and a Cici's Pizza nearby which are comparatively cheap ways to completely fill a family.

My daughter doesn’t go back till the 5th so it would only be A day or two. Plus school holidays vary throughout the country
Stayed at Rosen Inn. Great hotel

I absolutely love international drive I don’t think you can beat it for location and things to do when your not on the parks
Agree with the I drive comments. I won't stay anywhere else. Plenty eating choices and no driving in the evening after a long day in the parks.

Just got back from the Rosen Inn International at the weekend after booking the deal on here earlier in the year. Decent enough hotel and well located on I-Drive and as already mentioned, great for having a walk out to the bars and restaurants on an evening. Very close to Universal and hotel runs a courtesy bus there if you want to avoid the pricey $26 parking charge. It's so close you can even walk it in 30 minutes...
Thanks for sharing your experience. What is the transportation to the disney parks like?
Amazing deal. Would have snapped this up if I hadn’t already booked.
Bear in mind it’s a peak hurricane season in Caribbean so weather can be hit and miss

A slightly random question for anyone in the know. Im flying to the US in a few months and wondered whether its worth buying a $33 T-Mobile tourist sim. I should give me 2GB of data for 3 weeks.

On the other hand I could buy a 3 Mobile 30 day sim for £10 which has 2-4GB of data and that allowance can be used in the USA.

Virgin mobile my current provider doesnt offer free roaming so Im having to look elsewhere.
Thomas Cook likely to have folded before the holiday starts (worse still before it ends).

Three is heavily throttled we found it slower than 3g
Anyone ever done this took the flights and never turned up at the hotel?

We switched to 3 before our trip to Florida in June, never had any problems with the signal! It’s roaming so connected to AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint very easily with no real loss of data.
All the parks have free wifi also, which is pretty good to connect to!
Only place we struggled was Busch Gardens as it’s not park wide!
One word of warning though, If you have an iPhone and use iCloud for your photos, make sure you turn off uploading by cellular! It soon eats through your data allowance xoxo

The price is almost certainly positioned to deter an unmanageable volume of customers changing names as they please. Some people pay £180 at the hairdressers. You might disagree with the charge, but it's hardly unethical. Follow your own advice: read the Ts&Cs the next time and you won't have your expectations shattered

Sort of - with this exact same hotel from Thomas Cook back in 2013! We went in October so it was cheaper and we had a hire car thrown in. We actually kept the hotel and used it as a base and stayed there while doing some parks, but also spent some nights in Miami. From Miami we took a ferry for a few nights in the Bahamas (Ferry to Bimini) and a day trip to Key West and the Everglade.

We couldn't be the only ones as the hotel didn't panic that we'd dissappeared for over a week!

Shares almost worthless, desperately trying to sell its airline, in talks with its largest shareholder for a £750 cash injection - from where I am sitting (overseas via another airline / tour operator) there is only one person talking tosh and it certainly is very much current than old. Time will tell but in the meantime book using a credit card, book a package if you can and go to church / chosen place of worship every week regardless of whether you have a faith or none

I used a 3 one month sim in April for a week in texas. The speeds were full 4g and I never experienced any throttling there. I've only really felt the 3 throttle when I used to be on contract with them. TCB are giving £10 cashback on a sim which brings the price for a 4gb unlimited everything else sim down to £6. My cashback tracked making it a no brainer for me.

I could probably raise £750.00.
Might take me an hour though.
£180 for a name change on a Greek flight 3 months ahead... your paying for the same seat, your seat...twice...I find that to be a very unethical practice in hidden profiteering at the expense of people who are already in an unfortunate & unforeseen circumstance. The reason I'm posting is to warn anyone else who doesn't spend the time reading the T&Cs on everything they buy, which I should imagine are a great deal more than those who do!

Most airlines do not allow any names changes at all, so the fact you can albeit with a fee is pretty good

They all are. I'm on o2, who this year gave me 150 mins and texts and unlimited data.

Sounds good without any cost. Nope. Despite 4g, data was very slow, sometimes non existent even though bars were full, people who played poke. On go in our group said it wouldn't even work, 99 percent of the time.

3 years ago I was charged 1.50 a day also on o2. Never had any issue. Bit of a con, but does eventually get things like WhatsApp messages through. But very slow to download images and vid

What goods unlimited free data if its unusable
I am on EE max plan, they are sister company of TMobile USA, had amazing coverage in NYC and Orlando!

Could def do it. I had the same when I booked Vegas. Didn’t want to stay in the hotel on the package deal with Thomas cook but it couldn’t be changed as it was a last minute deal. I asked if I could pay for a different hotel separate to the package and they didn’t seem bothered by this.

Ideally want the flights only in 12 months time. Not bothered about hotel. Normally pay mid £600s each for a flight with 1 change
Shame it’s ends outside of “most” school holidays which is obviously reflective of the price. Shame as it’s a great price!!!!

Maybe someone couldn't make it anymore so needed to transfer the ticket. It is unethical because it doesn't cost Thomas Cook nearly as much in admin costs to make the change. They charge it because they know whomever needs it changed is probably desperate and has no other choice.

Can't comment on other airlines, though - maybe it's common practice. Shouldn't be allowed imo.
I stayed here last September, it's a fairly basic but nice hotel in a great location on I-Drive. The staff were very friendly and the majority of residents seemed to be British. The facilities were very well maintained, just ask for a room away from Interstate 4 which is on the west side of hotel and can be quite noisy.
