I'm sure you will have a fab time. Have never been to Hurghada but have been to sharm 3 times and are due to go back next year
Edited by: "takethatfan1978" 22nd Jul 2013

Thinking about diving in October, is it OK then?

I went in Dec 2011 to Sharm, great Weather.... Lots of people said it's dangerous but I saw no trouble and we went as a family to Cairo to see the Pyramids - kids absolutely loved it and again no trouble.

Did you hear about the Riots, deaths and carnage in Brighton and Gt. Yarmouth? oO

NO, perhaps that's because they are Seaside resorts and don't suffer from the problems in the Capital.

I live in London and the closest I got to the riots in London (Yes, riots and demonstrations in London) was what was reported in the news on TV.

My family, wife and 4 kids are heading to Hurghada for the last two weeks of the School Holidays, great deal and a great location.

@ashmac, enjoy Butlins.

I've been to hurghada 3 times and Sharm twice and never had any problems in any of the resorts we've stayed in. xx

I just got back from egypt, had 2 weeks there in this exact resort. Was amazing! Honestly I would reccomend. It to anyone. Yes there's stuff going on over there but its like from london to madrid away, just like any troubled location the tourist locations are fine. Don't let it put you off, it was the best holiday I've ever had and was touching 46 degrees everyday.

Do people not grasp how large these countries are? and do they not realise that the travel agents wouldn't run holidays if the regions were not safe?

prices come down because of the protests it's worth taking advantage of saying that the idiots who don't seem to grasp this are better of staying at home, after all who wants to share a holiday with these sensationalist fools.

I too dislike ignorant chavs, who manage to churn out absolute lies with NO evidence. Hatred and bigotry comments are only entertained by similar minded ppl.

The world is a BIG place, go an explore and it may open your closed mind...

Mate has just come back from Egypt said it was quality, would love to take this up! Bit of warm sun and a pool in the winter month

46 degrees !!!! that's way too warm, you would have to sit in the shade all day.

Kikboy I think you need to get your facts right the Dutch reporter was raped by 5 men because of the way she was dressed. Might want to cover up a bit

Your a moron fueling those brainless idiotic hate spreading chavs with your last comment, no ones has to cover up, she can dress how she wants as it does not give anyone the right to assault another person, no excuses mate, dont throw fuel on the fire mate.

Just like this great country allows women to cover up, it also allows them to dress down without threat.

Hutcher9.... have no.daughters nieces or sisters or mother for that matter.. pathetic that your comment was even made on this thread. Now away back.to your cave

I went there 5 years ago, had a villa on the swimming pool lagoon, was great.

Not so sure now though?!

Weather will be fine!!!!!

cannot see that it's available so I guess...it's expired !

Why does a simple holiday deal generate so much hate. Geez, this thread needs some more love in here!

eqypt.....no thanks

Second that, don't fancy dysentery, I know far too many people who have had serious problems while in Egypt and which carried on for months afterwards, in particular someone who spent 10 days of a 14 day holiday confined to his room and toilet. Not my idea of a holiday.

Seems to have gone in December now at that price

Been to the Titanic beach spa and aqua park 3 times now. Fantastic place to go to, you don't even have to leave the resort if you don't want to as everything is there. It encompasses the hotel, huge swimming pools, a great water park for the kids. Free beach towels every day. Usual food for an all inclusive however a great selection. There is a coral reef for diving or snorkelling. A dive school is on site with daily test dives in the swimming pools for first timers. There is a disco/night club in the hotel. Alcohol is 24 hours not closed at midnight like most of the Meditteranean ones. The staff are great always smiling and pleasant. Don't book any airport transfers as it's only £10-£15 from the airport to the hotel in a taxi. The excursions are very reasonable as well, diving, quad biking in the desert, trips to the pyramids and the valley of the kings. Fully enjoyed very visit.

Great price but if you have a choice of here or a country that has less active terrorism there is only one choice.

People do get on their high horse on here but all of these facts need to be considered when taking your family on holiday.

Terrorism??? Also this resort is in Sharm El Sheikh which is over 6hours drive to Cairo (which is where the riots are) would people not come to London because there was riots in Paris? Maybe you should check your facts before trying to put people off.

I've ben to Egypt 4 times and I've always gone in December, the temp was nice and warm so no the temp does not plumit after November and yes you'll still need your sun lotion

Steve

I'm sure people can google terrorist attacks in sharm el sheikh and find out what has happened in the past and is still very active. These are not my facts but facts that are readily available to anyone with Internet. I have given this info so hukd users are able to make an informed decision rather than a view from someone who is clearly not all there.

You always get the Egypt brigade who take offence to anyone that brings up the terrorist element in Egypt like its a personal attack on them. I could bring up Egyptian men's horrendous attitude towards women and the brutal attacks on foreign liberally dressed women in these areas as well but I won't.

Basically don't go if you value your family.

Who cares

Sharm is a fantastic place,i'd go back tomorrow....cairo is an experience......a hell of a lot to squeaze into one day....its worth taking into account though egypts 5* is uk 3-4*...

But don't let that put you off.get the the day trips booked as soon aas you get there, preferebly through the hotels[very little difference in price]

There is a lot of russians in egypt, particularly in the sinai, they are like the brits away of the 90's...and a lot of hotels cater a lot for their cuisine.

There I was happily browsing the holiday thread and I have to read that...What the ...Nobody has the right to rape another person, nobody. Instead of teaching women how to dress, teach men not to rape. Simple. There are millions of men in this world who can refrain themselves from raping as they are decent and know its wrong.
Your mentality needs addressing.

there was a fight once at a pub about 4 miles from my house, i thought i better stay in just in case the violence spilled out further into the countryside.

how are people still this close minded in this day an age? flights are so cheap now, probably cheaper than putting £40 in the car and going to skegness for the week, but still we have idiots who think that because there is trouble somewhere in one part of the world/country that its an unsafe place!!

rant over! im off to tick off some other places i cant visit for fear of....... well...... anything. bring on the rubber rooms i say!
