Cost of the parks has become ridiculous over the years. Standards have dropped as well. It became about milking you for every last drop.
Heat for flying out of Bristol.

I used “undercover tourist.com” excellent service. And because it’s US you can pay for the days you use. A couple of days Disney and universal is enough for anyone!!
Florida can be so educational for kids. Nasa space station is amazing and highly recommended (a trek from Orlando) and even Disney (yes Disney!) All those different cultures, languages, walks of life all in one big giant theme park is great for young children to understand there is life outside of the city you live in.

The crayola experience lets them get creative in a fun environment and great for little artists. So much to do in Florida, gutted this isn't a London airport deal!

Only downside is you need a car to get anywhere so factor car rental into your budget.

If you're only planning on going short distances (eg hotel to parks, malls etc) consider ignoring the car hire and just using Uber or Lyft out there. Parking at a Disney park is $25 a day, I did a quick check on their website and from the hotel we were looking at it was $15 each way. When you consider the cost of car hire, decent insurance, parking and fuel (it's cheap, not free lol), Uber really comes into it's own. Not so suitable for longer trips, or if you will be needing multiple trips per day (to a park, then shops, then out for tea later as an example) though.

True. We got a car as we had planned to travel a bit (so Nasa is about a 2-3 hour drive) and we flew into Tampa so needed the car.

Cost us about £500 for a basic chev for 14 days.

Agreed, I've used Uber out there, its easy and its noticeably cheaper than the same distance would be back here.
Also, sometimes I hire a car for just a week or so, do the long distance trips and the shopping, then take it back and use Uber for the rest of the holiday.
Some of the hire companies have local offices in Kissimmee so you can return it there instead of going back to the airport.

A full size car is around £350 for the 2 weeks with all insurances included. Check out USrentacar, Discount Florida Car Hire or Alamo Brits. All good companies. Uber is good as mentioned if you aren't going far though.

You would definitely need more than a couple of days at Disney though. It has 4 parks & 2 water parks. Even if you only spent 1 day at each that would be 6 days (think Magic Kingdom needs 2 days). Universal/Islands of Adventure & Volcano Bay probably needs only 3 or 4 days.

Don't forget to buy an Esta immediately now as it can take 72 hours to be approved ...
Just come back from a similar deal, well worth the money weather was beautiful and wasn’t all that busy either
We booked a car 2mths in advance using expedia (ended up coming from budget rentacar) - £225 / 14days inc damage waiver + zero excess.. order the cheapest compact car, they never have them in stock so u always get a free 1or2 tier upgrade

Not for me! Been on a few occasions and have found sweetspot to be 9 nights disney and 5 universal. But everyone is different I suppose.
That image is really unrepresentative of Orlando. For anyone who hasn't been, Orlando doesn't have a beach and is about 60 miles from the coast.
