Just had to make PayPal claim with Game as they lost my order in the post and refused to give me a refund or replacement, terrible company, sooner they go under the better.

So if I bought £15 Xbox credit I’d get it free with the offer?

It would appear so... I’d buy £20 to be sure in case it needs to be >£15.01

It's already ended 9th march
It says it ends 9th March??
This is probably a strange question but is there any way to check if you'd be considered a new customer?

I signed up to topcashback absolutely ages ago but I don't think I ever did anything with it in the end.

This is my Earnings page so it doesn't look like I ever did anything on it, but I don't know if it would count as a new account as I opened it so long ago.

Says 9th April 2018 in small print. Can anyone confirm the date.
Did a simialr thing in November and it did eventually pay out so it's definitely worth setting up a new account for

Theoretically, yes...
Whether they have software to detect abuse of the offer is another matter.

I actually wanted the item I was buying so it was a no-brainer for me but cashback is never 100% guaranteed and they might detect abuse if you are indescreet, cancelling all cashback.

Was £15 enough or is the above poster correct and it's better to be safe and spend over the £15?

Thanks

I can't tell you - my purchase was £16.67 so it obviously qualified.

You could try asking some of the others who went for it:

Er... I can't remember where I did this from...
I don't think TCB are very reliable for tracking through a mobile browser so I'll have probably done it on the laptop.

Remember that I only did 1 transaction and that I acknowledged the risk of the cashback not paying out but it sounds like you're shaping up for a heist
If you're planning on milking this to the max, any and all obfuscation will help.

remember for new customers - topcashback take off £5 yearly admin so if this is the only thing you do with topcashback all you get is £10 which is still pretty good. Used this offer at Christmas and only took 2 months to get the purchase tracked and paid into account - which is not too bad for quidco /cashback sites

How long is it since you ordered it? What did they say the reason for why they wouldn't refund or replace it was? They wouldn't just decide they don't want to for no reason.

This isn't compulsory - You can change your preferences.
While you're there, set yourself a payout method now - if you wait until the money is available, it takes 3+ days after setting up a payout method before you get paid.

10 days, said it wasn't long enough for them to claim with royal mail. That's their issue not mine, if I don't receive my item I expect a replacement or a refund.
Looks like hard work.
I have never done any cashback deals. So after opening a new account a making a purchase from Game, how long do I have to wait to get the money back ?
So I can do this with a pre order?
Would this offer exclude Game cash cards? I have over £50 trapped on one and had not the need to use them. If there is free money up for grabs im in.

REALLY ?

there's not a single company on this planet that would offer a refund or replacement to an item sent with standard postage that hasn't arrived after 10 days. not a single company.

every single website relies on a third party to get an item from them to the buyer. wouldn't be GAME's fault for the delay in the item being recieved. it'd have been sent probably a day after you bought it at the very latest. naturally these delivery services do their best to get the item delivered to you within the estimated period. eg 1-2 days for 1st class etc.

however realistically delays can happen. obvious example is start of the month we had those days of huge snow fall. which caused no mail delivery for 5 or so days. which is why most delivery service wont declare an item lost until 28 days. which is why game didn't refund you or replace it. which is why argos wouldn't have, hmv, zavvi ,asda, whsmith wouldn't have. no company would have.

think of it this way, if you sold me a game through ebay, sent it a day later, but for whatever reason it hasn't turned up after 10 days. that's not your fault. there'd literally be NOTHING you could've done to prevent it. & I as the buyer wouldn't be entitled to a refund from you until it was declared lost after 28 days. imagine if you did, you refund me, after 10 days, then try and claim only for royal mail to find i eventually recieved it within the 28 days. you'd lose both your game and the money for it.

the moment game handed your item over, it was no longer their responsibility, it's all on royal mail. If you cannot accept that you shouldn't ever order anything online.

if you want to throw blame around. it's royal mail's fault you haven't recieved it. frankly in terms of whose to blame, you're more to blame than game. why ? if you know you're not going to cope with a delay in recieving your item, you should have paid for next day delivery. that's why they offer it.

Their site says 10 days from dispatch (not order) and not including sundays and bank holidays, so it seems like you might not have waited quite long enough before contacting them. I'm pretty sure they're obligated to do something about it and they can't just decide they don't want to, but if they're unable to get the Royal Mail to look into it because it hasn't been long enough quite yet, then it wouldn't make sense for them to refund you right away only to find out it's found the next day or something like that, so that is relevant to you as well.

Saying "It's not been long enough" doesn't mean "you get nothing, too bad", it means wait a short while longer and then contact them again, when they can actually do something about it.

Most places have a minimum wait time. I ordered something from the Oxfam book store a few weeks ago which didn't arrive, they said to wait a few more days and then contact them again, at which point it still hadn't turned up so they refunded it. There's nothing unusual or scummy about game saying the same thing.

I remember when I use to sell on fleabay I use to get so many idioxs opening up disputes straight away only after couple of days demanding refund or replacement
Bad deal in my opinion. My experience of topcashback is that they have failed to pay out on 100% of the cash back that I've claimed. And Game are an awful company. Double whammy of bad.
Like Ebay my Game purchases never track and I have to raise claims. They've always been declined.
Freezing cold. Don't like these 'new' member only offers. And certainly not with retailers that have previously gone into receivership and thus not honoured outstanding cashback and reward points.
Hey everyone,

For those new to TopCashback Members - Welcome to our little corner of the web and I am pleased to say that the offer end date is the 9th April The page should update shortly, if it hasn't done so already.

For existing members - while you are not eligible for this, that doesn't mean we don't care about you; quite the opposite. We are always looking to reward you even more.

For most purchases through our site we already give out more cashback than we get from the retailers with our top up scheme. In addition, remember the great bonuses we run through the year alongside the UKs most generous cashback rates; guaranteed and our awesome snap and save deals. Only a couple of weeks ago we gave away free easter eggs!.

Best wishes,Matt

if i ordered god of war, which is released on 20th of april, would i get the cashback ?
New customers or new prey? There will be some who will be tricked by TCB, it’s their strategy
I did register on TCB a time ago,but never used it...is it will still counts as new user?..
Takes 6 months to get cash back. In 6 months time game will be bankrupt

This is your own fault for being whiny and impatient. Every company has their own rules for how long they have to wait before submitting a lost in post claim. I believe GAME have 14 days total from dispatch. They would have told you that so you having a go at them and complaining because they won't offer a replacement or refund any earlier is on you, not them.
Game haven't been fast at doing cashback since they were saved from bankruptcy. I wouldn't bank on this so only order if good price too.

But you don't pay out cash back in my experience. So 'generous cash back rates' don't mean anything. I've closed my account with you now. Your company and other cash back sites seem to be exploiting a grey area in contact law. When someone agrees to buy something for a particular price with additional cash back from your site, that's offer and acceptance in contact law.

I'd urge others not to bother with cash back companies. Either that, or take it with a massive pinch of salt, and fully expect the cash back to not be paid. I've had better experiences with quidco, but you're still waiting several months for cash back to be paid.

Just not worth it.

Oh honey, I think you need a woman to take all that frustration out on... and also need to get YOUR facts right. It was 14 days when I had an issue once however the website clearly states 10 days not including Sundays, which makes it 11 or 12 days. So no, you weren't within your rights to complain when posting your comment, however you may be now. Knock yourself out
