Cooking Guidelines
Cooking Instructions - General: We have given you these cooking instructions as a guide only. Remove all packaging. Check product is piping hot before serving. Do not re-heat.
Grill - From Chilled/Ambient: Place under a pre-heated grill. Grill on a medium heat for 12-15 minutes. Turn regularly.
Shallow Fry - From Chilled/Ambient: Pre-heat a little oil in a frying pan. Fry on a medium heat for 12-15 minutes. Turning frequently.

Storage
Keep refrigerated. Once opened consume within 24 hours. Do not exceed the Use By date. Suitable for freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and consume within one month. Defrost thoroughly before cooking. Once defrosted, do not re-freeze.

You can't have much higher meat percentages than 80% in sausages (unless it's a pepperami type thing). 99% is just ridiculous if it was that high it would be disgusting and unpalatable.

95-97% sausages do exist I think but are usually for people with allergies or intolerance to wheat, gluten, dairy etc.
I have eaten them before but they tend to be hard and dry, the majority of people prefer a juicy sausage.

Debbie and Andrews sausages are pretty good except the kiddies ones which are synthetic and like mush.
Very cleverly marketed though, a family of sausage makers... Seriously though, to produce sausages on the scale they do they must have employees in their hundreds. It's not Debbie and Andrew kissing every pig as it's portrayed

Gotta agree, I used to think the higher the meat content the better but there is a point where it's not quite right.

You need the other stuff for flavour and texture. The indicators of a good sausage are:

* Meat content 65%+ (does not include pork fat)
* Pork content 80% + (includes lean pork and pork fat)
* Coarse cut meat (nothing to hide)
* Expensive natural skins (skins made from either pigs or sheep intestines)

Actually they are 97% and all shoulder meat I do buy them because of this, but they don't taste as good as 85% ish ones.

Spot on.

Once you hit past the 90% mark, surely it just tastes like white pudding. And if that's the case, steer well clear. It's so porky in taste it's completely unpalatable!

Better than the vile Richmond sausage offer posted yesterday. (I still feel sick after reading that)
