This deal is based on 2 people flying out from Heathrow on Wednesday 4th December, returning Friday 20th December. You will be staying a total of 15 nights around a number of destinations.

I did a trip very similar to this in March and throughly enjoyed it, you will be travelling around by plane, ferry and mini van so be prepared for a lot of travelling around.

I have constructed an itinerary which I feel gives you enough time to see all the sites and visit all the best spots in each destination. It is only suggested, feel free to add places or stay longer in some places!

The main things to do in these places are boat tours and they’re absolutely breathtaking. You’re taken to numerous beaches, coves and lagoons which will just blow your mind.
I visited in March and we had amazing weather every day and the tours weren’t too busy.

Port Barton was by far my favourite of these towns, it was just so quiet and undiscovered compared to the rest of the resorts.

As you land late into Manila on 5th December I’ve suggested getting a hotel and flying out to Coron around 1300 the following day. If you would rather just get to Coron there is an early flight around 0500 if you want to stay in the airport.

When travelling from Port Barton to Sabang it is best sorting out the transport in resort itself as you cannot book direct mini vans online without booking a private transfer which is £££. From Port Barton you will be jumping a mini van bound for Puerto Princesa and jumping off at the Salvacion Junction and jumping back on another minivan to Sabang.

The minivans aren’t as bad as they sound as I was dreading them, they all have air con, aren’t too cramped and the roads aren’t as bad as I expected them to be. I still suggest taking a travel sickness tablet if you suffer from motion sickness.

Baggage Allowance

With Air China you can each have 2 23kg bags.

I’ve included 20kg each of checked in baggage with Cebu Pacific

With Air Asia I’ve included 1 25kg allowance which can be over multiple bags.

With Air Asia you can increase or decrease the allowance accordingly. When we travelled we booked a 25kg allowance each and only had 9kg each!

There are plenty of other hotels to choose from for around the same price. If you want to save money there are a few cheaper options with shared bathrooms or even shared rooms such as hostel.

If you're in the Philippines, install an app called Grab. It's their version of Uber... do it whilst you're in the UK as I had to verify my number via a text message and couldn't be bothered to pay whatever vodafones roaming fees were. Also get a sim card when you get there. biggest mistake for my trip was not doing that immediately at the airport.
Looks good to me, just need to find someone who's up for an adventure ;-)

Totally agree with the SIM card we got one as soon as we arrived into Manila. Only cost about £10 and did us the whole trip!

I second getting a Philippines SIM at the airport when you arrive. They are extremely cheap and include calls and data.

The road to and from Port Barton is quite an experience. When I went they'd had a lot of rainfall so parts of it were landslide mud - but you were still allowed to drive it. Fun and terrifying in equal measure.

Great deal we paid £575 on PAL for next week
The place looks amazing. Ive travelled to most countries in that neck of the woods but not the Philippines. Would definitely love to visit this place particularly at these prices.
Nice price for an adventure

I second that, the app also works around most of Asia so useful for Thailand etc. and saves getting ripped off by overpriced taxi's and them not using the meter!!!

Also Coron and El Nido are beautiful, did the trip in January and the landscape was amazing!
Wow, great post, and for a pretty dead time of year for UK guys. Thanks. Heat added.
Very hood price and post .....for those who can travel at that time!!
I think the minibuses from El Nido to Puerto Princesa are pretty bad. There’s no premium service that you can pay a little more and get a bigger, more comfortable seat. Save 5-6 uncomfortable hours of your life and fly from El Nido to Puerto Princesa for 3000p vs 600p on the minibus. You’ll thank me later.
The Airline is Air Swift but there website is terrible

Beautiful country well worth visiting but be warned the food in the Philippines is terrible compared to all the other popular tourism countries in south east Asia. I also had the bad luck of visiting the day after Pacquiao lost to Mayweather and gamblers had lost everything. I was told it was not safe to go out after dark and could only use an ATM if i had a guard with a shotgun. Spend as little time in Manila as you can get away with!

Wholeheartedly agree. Haven't been to Philippines but was just in Vietnam and did exactly that and saved us a small fortune. Always good to be forward thinking
If you’re into scuba diving, then you need to dive some of the ship wrecks in Coron. Absolutely amazing and so cheap. Think I paid around £40-45 in total, for 3 amazing dives! Some of the ships are still totally intact and even have air pockets.
I went there last year and to Manlia also Makati 14 nights with hotel, flights excursion only cost me £1,400

it's better to island hop not just one island you will get bored. travel to the cities too.
Great post, not for me but brilliant for someone looking to venture further afield
Palawan is a lovely place, I spent several weeks there a few years back and loved it. However, the point, below, about the minibuses is certainly true. PP to El Nido they initially tried to get more people on than there were seats. After a bit of "No, not getting on, get another one for the rest of us" they got another. Still not comfortable though, so yeah, if you can take the flight.

And unfortunately this is true also. The food is, with some exceptions, pretty gash. Most of the good stuff is pig-related, such as lechon. I've never eaten McDonalds so often. Manila isn't really a place I'd want to go back to either.

Oh, yes, the taxi drivers over there really wrote the scamlopaedia.

plenty of pre op lady boys but each to there own i suppose.

Was going to go to Mexico a little later in the year but after the shooting came up on my news feed i think i will give it a miss.
Cold for not putting any effort in OP
Visited Philliphines few years back and Palawan is magical less people compare to Borocay. The Buses or Minibuses in Phillipines are bit scary.Visited China town in Manila for bit of Bargain Hunt. It’s so much to Explore there
I'd take the flight's and then book accom as you go. The prices quoted are pretty high. You can save money booking online by setting up an account with Agoda - uses booking.com among others to get the best price.

Port Barton being "comparatively undiscovered"? There are plenty of other options.

You could book ahead and get a cheap flight out to Boracay or Cebu and then back to Manilla. Internal fights are super cheap if you catch them right.

As for the food, I found plenty of great local food in the 3.5 months that I was there.
Great Post Buddy! We have booked Ditto as per your recommendation. Really great find and you have made our dream trip possible thank You
Great post @BlueSkies wish I had more time to travel like I did when younger.

Have some heat from me amigo
Well researched. Palawan is beautiful but only been to coron but would love to go and see elnido. Just not looking forward to land transfers.

I agree with cheap internal flights Cebu Pacific are very good. I wouldn't bother with Boracay Philippines equivalent of the Costas full of Koreans and Germans - Duterte did the right thing shutting it down for a year. Bohol is a lovely island I'd also suggest Davao which has a cooler climate. Lovely people most of whom speak fairly good English.
Have to admit, on my last tour of the Philippines, Palawan was a very impressive place. It was essentially free of plastic rubbish. This made a huge difference.
Great deal thankyou
I found that Coron was not worth the visit unless you are into scuba diving. The tours we did were incredibly busy and the Instagram pictures you see are an absolute lie. Plus the town itself is dead. Spend a few more days in El Nido, that place is just amazing
Have any of you actually booked this? I'm tempted, but it would be cool if me and the other half could do it with s coupe on here also....
is it for 2 ppl only? i can go alone for 592?
p.s. also need someone to go with, if anyone else looking for a fellow traveller hmu

yes I have booked this ditto.. so that price don't change. However make sure you pay attention to luggage capacity on each flight. Good luck
Great deal. Palawan is beautiful.
Heat given - thanks for the advice and effort!
Toured Palawan around 8 years ago. Amazing place, Sabang and El Nido being our highlights
This looks really interesting, if I wasn't saving for Peru I'd be all over it!

Incoming texts should be free on Vodafone. But still probably better to do it at home so its ready to go when you get there.
