Don't think they can do their maths. £169.99 - 15% = £144.50

Wanted a Play 1 will call them to see if only instore or not shortly.

Well found. Need a 1 to complete collection (for now) will call them this morning

Wow fantastic deal, but after yesterday I have to control myself!!

Heat to op on way!

Managed to get John Lewis to price match a similar deal last time around, I just sent them a copy of the tweet

Play 5 with free Bridge £299.00 (sold Bridge for £20.00)

This deal should work out at ~ £303.00

RhinoPaulthat was my maths whilst out and about because it wouldn't just let me put a percentage off in the price field!

Great discount for Sonos products. I added a Sub at £499, and also another Play 1 at £145.

Play 5 is appx £290 delivered by Amazon.es just gone up from £278. Also play 1 for £145 and play 3 for £210. The more you buy the cheaper it will be as the postage is included in these prices but are based on single items.

It would be helpful if they would answer the fecking phone lol!
EDIT: Now answered and instore only, they won;t deliver. So currently on the phone to John Lewis trying to price match

Do all play 5's come with the bridge? And why did you sell the bridge?

I've completed a price match form for John Lewis, wouldn't do it over the phone

Fantastic - thank you. Have just phoned up and reserved.

Guessing he already has a Sonos set-up, and doesn't need an extra bridge.

You don't even need them now.

Thanks for this, had ordered from amazon.es but they were slow to despatch. Now reserved for collection at Martin Dawes

Picked up a Sonos connect for £234 just now. Happy days.

John Lewis have just turned down a price match for me.

Picked mine up just now, noticed they had 25% off all Bose products too

What reason did John Lewis give for rejecting it?

ring and pay over phone with paypal but its £15 postage. I just got the sonos 3 for 227 posted

Apparently for a price match it needs to be available both online and in store not just in store.

great deal!
HOT

Ordered 2 play 1's yesterday after they tweeted the 15% off.....yes they took ages to answer the phone and I had to pay via PayPal. Said they would post them on Monday....

That's shocking barrybarryr! So instead we just go to the store and they miss out the 500? More and more disappointed in JL. It doesn't say that in terms either.

These sound awful, I mean really cheap! I returned two Play 5's, after both produced a rattle/resonated to bass notes. Tbh it didn't sound great, even when it wasn't resonating.

Wow!

main criticism is they're pricey, that said their support is fantastic..
Perhaps you had duffs?

This is a good deal so heat.

However, you can make a similar but more flexible system for a fraction of the cost using the excellent Logitech Media Server (aka squeezebox server). I installed it on my mybook live. Then you simply make 'players' which can be made very easily using Raspberry Pi's (no technical know how required - don't worry). I linked one up to my Onkyo amp. And if you want to add new clients you can set up a very good one (speakers with amp, excellent quality) for about £70. You can also use your mobile phones as clients. If you have multiple players in different rooms you can 'sync' them to all play the same thing, or have them play different music in different rooms. There are lots of aps as well, iplayer and radio stations etc. Even buying a brand new 3TB wd live (that's a lot of music) for the sole purpose of installing LMS, you would be quids in. If people want more info I will be happy to help.

Out of stock on play 1

Well they were both new, and from Amazon; it's a possibility I suppose.

However NEVER listen to anything What HiFi says, it's essentially paid for marketing, in all but name. I also feel Cnet and Tech Radar are questionable sources.

I have one of each of their products (1,3,5, Play Bar and Sub) and I have very few complaints. The sound quality is great to me and the usage of the app is great (ie: access to my music library seamlessly with Napster & Deezer) and in my opinion, they are great. Set-up is extremely easy as well, although as with any wireless system, you need a decent WiFi. Don't try to download large amounts of data (eg: Steam or Origin) at the same time unless you get their new dedicated Sonos BOOST (not yet purchased). Obviously this is nothing to do with Sonos but worth bearing in mind when you're spending that kind of money.

My previous system consisted of Marantz and Yamaha components with Mission speakers and my only other possible gripe with Sonos would be that they're going to struggle at high volumes. However, they're the best of their type (to my knowledge) and living in an end terrace, I've still had complaints from two doors up when watching A New Hope quite loudly (the Sub is amazing)!

Ratings are obviously a guide but always try for yourself and also bear in mind the room you're trying to fill. A Play 5 on it's own is not going to match up to a separates system (regardless of what Sonos try to suggest) but pair a couple in a room or add a Sub (and set it up properly) and it should sound pretty good. Audiophiles are never going to settle for any wireless system but it'll more-than do for the rest of us.

Soapbox session over

Yeah, I have done something similar, but with Airplay. Built low power Linux devices that support Apple's Airplay, connected to speakers around the house. Pretty much any device supports Airplay these days, whether it's natively (iOS/Mac) or via a third party program/app (Windows/Linux/Android). I could of just got a load of Airport Expresses around the house, but this works out cheaper.

Do not forget you get One year FREE Music from Deezer via redemption Offer ends 31 December 2014.

I never, I just told them it was clear on their twitter account and if they called then they would be given that price.

Now I just need to call Martin Dawes (again!) to cancel my order with them!
