Travelodge have just released a code AUTUMN15 that gives 15% off Hotel rooms, usually they don't work on saver rooms but this one does & it includes half term dates PLUS if you go via Earnaway on the get deal link you will receive £5 CASHBACK too!
I've just tested the code & managed to find rooms from £21.25 for a family of 4 staying at Oldham for the night of Sunday 23rd October or same date at Manchester Trafford Park for just £22.95.
Booking dates: 01.09.16 - 04.09.16
Stay dates: 12.09.16 - 30.11.16

Others I have found include;
Friday 28th October
1 night for Family of 4 staying at Birmingham Hilton Park M6 Southbound just £18.70 with code
1 night for Family of 4 staying at Washington A1(M) Southbound or Northbound just £23.80 with code
1 night for Family of 4 staying at Haydock St. Helens or Widnes just £26.45
1 night for Family of 4 staying at London Feltham £19.55 (add all you can eat breakfast for 2A + 2C for £15.90)
1 night for Family of 4 staying at London Heathrow Central just £21.25

I have tried the travel lodge in Dublin - afraid that doesn't work, the error message is as follows:

Just a heads up for those trying southern Ireland. Thanks anyway OP, heat added!

It depends on how old the youngest is...I have taken 5 in when the youngest is four/five and used a makeshift bed....they were all too young to sleep in another room and why should we sleep apart ??

Travelodge does not let in 4 adults in the same room so this is no good for me unfortunately, but voted hot.

Is anything possible with 4 kids and 2 adults?

We've got 2 kids and struggle enough to get family rooms for 4, friends with 3 or 4 kids have a nightmare. This was the main deciding factor in not having any more kids (holidays are a big thing for us!).

Our friends usually just book the room for 4 and leave a kid in the car until they're checked in - the kids can share beds or bring an air bed with them.

Seriously 'This was the main deciding factor in not having any more kids(holidays are a big thing for us)!!!!!!!!
and 'Friends leave a kid in the Car' WOW as a Responsible Parent would NEVER EVER leave a kid in the Car its against the Law and to put Holidays overChildren uou are very lucky to have that choice Just Saying and I know most wont agree

Thanks OP.

I think you are misunderstanding, presumably one person checks in and leaves the rest in the car. I've never been asked to present all the occupants of a room at check-in.

We did the same with only having two kids, any more becomes a pain, never thought of hotels. I was just bothered about the Morrisons kids eat free with a paying adult, we weren't getting the value with one child so two was the ideal number.

I'm almost certain we all have a choice of the number of children we choose to have, we decided to stop at two rather than continue popping them out until we were destitute and exhausted.

No this is clearly excluded unfortunately but is their usual rule - it's the first bullet in the t&cs on the link

I love your fabulous view of the world and bow down to your superior knowledge of all things 'responsible parent' over mine.

A) As someone else said above, one parent can stay in the car with a small child while the other checks in. Or, as my friends do, leave the eldest kid - now aged 14 - in the car on their own. You seem to assume that all 'kids' are toddlers!

B) I am quite happy with our little family of 4, we go on holiday at every available opportunity, having fun and making memories. Having several friends with 3 or more kids, I know how much more difficult and expensive it is for them to go on holiday, most only manage it once or twice a year. I think my husband and I are perfectly within our personal rights to decide that we are quite happy with the 2 children and the lifestyle that we have. I know couples who have decided not to have kids at all as a lifestyle choice, because they enjoy adult holidays. As I said, the difficulties of finding affordable holidays with more than 2 kids was the main decider when we made the decision to stop after the second child.

C) There's no reason whatsoever why I should have to justify to you or anyone else the personal choices I make!

If 3 of those people are under 7 and you're just stopping overnight for convenience, do you really need much more than a clean and comfortable bed and a bathroom?!

Same here tried all of the ROI hotels. Northern Ireland does work though for the same dates selected with the code (11th-13th October), though not much use for myself staying a few miles down the road lol.
