Theres been a few similar deals on here previously but eBay US are currently running a 15% discount using code PREPSPRING until 4am 28th March - min spend is £18 and max discount is £35

Possible to use this on a UK account using the below method.

As an example this Nintendo Switch grey console is £214.84 posted by Nihir - screenshot below from when I tested

hotukdeals.com/dea…082

The Method

  • Go on your ebay account and go to account settings
  • Then on left hand menu go to addresses and change Registration address to USA (do not change delivery address)
  • You should get a message congratulating on your move to the US and then click submit
  • Then browse on the UK site and see what you want to buy, when you know and have the product page - amend the url to ebay.com (instead of .co.uk)
  • If done successfully you should see the price in £ and dollars
  • Add to basket and choose paypal
  • Then add code PREPSPRING to see the discount

It will take a lot more than 15% of ebay for me to move to the gunland !!

Really? I would move anywhere for 15% of ebay

Hmm, very interesting
God damn it. Unwanted purchase. Again. Heat.
Hot
Interesting
I am getting the error "This code can't be applied to your order" message - I got that last week with the other codes too
This doesn’t sit right with me

What are shipping cost going to be if they presume there shipping within us
Warning: Falsification of information to evade payment of VAT may result in civil fines and criminal prosecution. eBay co-operates with law enforcement in cases involving potential falsification of information to evade payment of VAT. Selling after doing this is tax tampering potentially due to different tax laws in the us
I got the Switch from this very retailer the last time there was a 15% US code on eBay and I got the console within 2 days. Their communication was also brilliant. The description said "Please note that the box has minor damage due to being in storage" but my box didn't even have a scratch.

It won’t be any different to ordering from the UK site. The shipping address is unchanged. You’re only changing where the account is registered. Just make sure the seller you buy from is in the UK.

Can you filter that
Working now.
Not sure I should do this though, I mean it's only £35.15 off and the item, I want is still several hundred quid.

Are there any possible consequences?

They did a 20% off selected categories the day after the last one of these 15% US eBay deals.
Think it was last week actually.

Yep. On the left handside of the page.

After changing your registered address, just search for items on eBay.co.uk. When you have a uk located item, just changed the “.co.uk” portion of the web address to “.com” and your item will appear on the US site. Then, just checkout as normal with your log in details.
Same here

You are probably right.
Not worth risking my eBay account over a £35.15 saving on a TV.
Will probably find a reasonable fully legit deal soon.
Voted hot by the way, despite not wanting to risk it.
Not worth the risk to my ebay account.
£220 for a gtx 980. if was under 200, then just maybe
No option to add to basket for me...
It’s not fraud it’s breaching T&Cs of ebay - worst you’d get is your account suspended- not a police matter at all and has no tax implications.

You are still buying from Uk and sending to Uk - just website allowing you to use a USA voucher.
Does this work? Can i get 35 quid off a graphics card?
thanks, got far cry 5 for £33

Ebay are the epitemy of greed with inadequate customer service for all those moaning about this work around. Their fees are astronomical for sellers.
Done this sort of promo before without a problem. eBay don't care, if this was a problem for them they wouldn't run this promo in the US in the first place and they would probably find a way to stop us using this!
All arguing and people who think they're chief of police aside. Does this method work? If so, can someone give an honest viewpoint on the implications of following this through. WE WANT FACTS!

True that. Also I would suggest to use a separate account for this and avoid using your seller account. I am always “moving” my address wherever the discount appears.

Worked for me thanks op
Good deal and thanks for posting ...unfortunately I refuse to purchase anything from eBay anymore, as they proved completely pants when an item I paid a lot for, turned out to be fake....I have principles regardless whoever the seller may be.....none the less, happy shopping and heated up

It does work. Nobody on the other thread has suffered any repercussions from it. At worst, they may ban your account.

Can’t see eBay being that bothered to go through all the transactions to find people though. They’ll just block the future codes somehow.
