Can't see anything in the Ts and Cs that mean this wouldn't work. Don't expect to go hot, but might be helpful for someone else.

Please tell me if I'm being an idiot and this won't work for some reason as I'm about to buy these myself soon!

Usually Amex are ok with GC - so might get lucky here too.
I’ve been staring at this Amex deal for a few days now - but didn’t know what to do with it.... It would be the perfect time to have lots of credit on your account with the post Christmas digital sales arriving soon. Does this definitely work?

Should work, I've got about £70 back through the Shop Small and another £10 back on £40 spend at TK Maxx.

Stick to the rules and you'll be fine, if they try to backtrack just do Live Chat and have a polite whinge at them saying "you going to stick to your advertised promises then?"

I'd just struggle to find what to spend £150 on at the Microsoft Store...

Scratch that...

C. Transactions that are not eligible

The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:
  • transactions where you do not spend directly with the merchant (for example, if you buy the merchant’s goods through a third party department store);
  • transactions processed through a third party payment processor (for example, PayPal);
  • transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded;
  • transactions where the merchant does not pass on the information we need to process it properly within the offer period (for example, when their payment systems are down and they cannot process the transaction electronically)
  • transactions where you buy a gift card, store credit or a voucher.

Bugger - thanks. Clicking the expire button! Didn't see those...
You’ve expired prematurely.

Despite the terms, Amex has absolutelyno idea what you spend £150 on. This’ll work.

(for example, I just used the Post office credit to buy the one4all GC)
I can confirm it works as I have used it. £30 credited within a couple of days.
It worked for me too but then I tried it again on a different card and Microsoft Canceled the order.
So, this did end up working after all, I now have £207 sat in my ms account

Wow, thanks guys, good to know. Not sure if a mod can un-expire it?
Will do it myself now anyway, so thanks for letting me know!
