150 mins, 250 texts and 500mb data for free every month with OVIVO. ONLY pay one off £15 to Register

I have checked and it was last posted over a month ago.

I have used this company for over 1 year now.

You pay £20 to buy the sim card and you receive a sim with £15 top up. This sim will give you an allowance of 150 minutes, 250 texts and 500mb internet every month for free. Ovivo uses Vodafone network hence has quite good coverage in my area.
Out of the initial £20 that you pay for registration, you receive a credit of £15 to your Ovivo account and can be used in excess to your monthly free allowance.

Also includes free calls and texts to other OVIVO users.

Ovivo also sells other pay monthly plans with good allowance. The free monthly allowance plan is called 'Freedom Plan'.

In return for the free monthly allowance they send you occasional advertisement emails and if you browse internet using this sim, you are occasionally diverted to advertisement pages which can be closed within 5 seconds. Here is how an advert looks like: dropbox.com/sc/…2rn

Also there is a data plan for around the same price as well which provides you 750mb of data to use over a month. Again you get 750 mb data every month for free. This is useful for tablets. Though I just use the mobile plan sim in my tablet as it let's me send text messages using the tablet. Not much difference in data anyway.

Price Changes

On Wednesday 18th September 2013, we're increasing the price you have to pay upfront to join us on our Freedom and Ibis plans. If you'd like to benefit from the existing pricing, please ensure you sign up by 2pm on Wednesday.

Yeah, entering my 3rd month with them, and never use up what they give. Paid the £15 and thats it. Nothing more to pay. Delighted with the service

If Vodaphone coverage suits you then this is THE best deal for a pay as you go sim ever.
Myself and the Mrs both have one in our dual sim phones as backups.

Very good, I bought two, just use the other one when one runs out . No more monthly payments

I can now update my calendar a month must have passed so it can be posted again....

Even though somebody posted on the old thread an hour ago.

Still a hot deal mind.

I've got two for the kid's mobiles and one for my iPad - 750mb free each month for nowt. In 6th month now so I've more than had my money's worth. Adverts on iPad but only for around 5 seconds, no problem for the price

Very good company to communicate with too.

Have one in my tablet, can't fault it at all

500mb data allowance is laughable

I've never understood this "It's already been posted" thing
So what ? Many MANY people will miss it first 2nd 3rd - however number of times. This way it's kept fresh, letting people know about a great deal

why ?

Lots of good comments about Ovivo - however, I mentioned it to my mate recently, he bought a SIM for his wife's new phone, which I have set up for him, and I unfortunately find the signal extremely flakey. Now my phone is TalkMobile, which also uses Vodafone, so it's a bit concerning because at the points I checked, my phone was getting a decent signal yet his wasn't. I've ordered a SIM for my daughters new Nexus 4 - hope it gets better reception than his. Plus the signal checker shows he should get a decent signal in the few places we tested it in.

Have two of these sims and signal is ok for 90% of the time. Had them for 3 months now so
cant really complain

when did they increase the data?
last time i checked it was 250mb, only a few months ago.

Personally I would prefer to unexpire the old deal as it should have not expired as it is still current. Also, the old deals will probably have a lot of info in there such as, manual settings for certain phones etc.

I don't care but thought I throw in my 2 pence.

Also got 2 and just the odd time people have had a problem trying to ring me, but cant complain with the price and the adverts dont bother me anymore.

Have some heat.
AFAIK, the one thing about this is that landline calls are not included in the monthly allowance.

One of my favourite things about Ovivo is when you do go over your allowances, they charge you at a decent rate instead of fleecing you for 40p a minute or 12p a text like some other networks. Out of bundle (0845, 0870, etc.) are also very reasonable.

Sadly they're ending support for BlackBerry services so I'm going to have to switch, but I'll keep my SIM for data and hopefully switch back in the future when I decide to replace my BB.

Furthermore, you can use the £15 as PSN credit if you don't need it. Win Win.

No qualms about the deal, but I'd just like to point out while these mobile operators piggy back on the major networks, that does not mean they have the same signal /quality at a given location. Many of these virtual operators buy the signal and a 'priority' at the masts. This means that they get a cheaper deal (and in turn, us), but if the masts get busy with their primary customers than our call quality and data throughput can suffer.

This is rarely an issue, but I really noticed it a while back when going through the major cities (Manchester, Brum, London).

It's just worth keeping in mind. A no brainer for most people don't get me wrong, but as I use my phone for business I had to change.

Giffgaff had issues like this a while back (although solved now): hexus.net/mob…ty/

Are any of the Ads adult only?

Yea i have been with them for about 3 months as well, superb deal IMO, i don't use my allowance every month but i will use my sim for non freebie calls now (0845 etc) as trying to give a bit back to them, one of the best deals i have seen on here IMO.

So far it's all been kid friendly from what i have seen.

Do they let you know when allowance is up? Do they charge then for browsing or just downloading?

Jonnyblock wroteAre any of the Ads adult only?

Never seen any that would be adult only there just normal adds.

that makes sense.
I have been with ovivo a few months now and sometimes my texts failed to send or people cant call me because I don't have a signal. I thought vodaphone was a reliable network but if what you are saying is correct then I can see why I have occasional problems. Nevertheless its good value for a £15 one off payment

Ordered and paid £15 to OVIVO MOBILE on the 1st July as of yet no SIM or correspondence.

Did you try getting in touch with them?

I like the £3 bonus credit you get for porting your number to them... I'm not sure how they benefit from it but if they wanna throw credit my way then I'll let em!!

Great deal if Vodafone coverage is good in your area, but their data network in my area is dreadful.

They benefit in that you're using it for your main number instead of just a backup SIM? Customer retention and all that.

Unless of course you're just porting a backup number from another throwaway SIM...

Shame about blackberry - my daughter has been given one so I an looking for cheapest way of getting it to function - it's a 9800 torch so needs a blackberry package to use any data function at all .
Best I can see so far is giff gaff 7.50 plus the 2.50 blackberry add on - any others to consider ?

You also get £3 for recommending a friend i currently have £21 credit i am never going to use.

Sounds like a really good deal - I would take it up but Vodaphone is the poorest network round here and has no signal at my house or work so would be useless really!

If there are any others which offer similar on T-mobile or Orange networks please post up!

@SawyerLatte

Ah yes. That'll be it... hadn't considered that.

I did try, however just off the phone and have been advised they'll send out another SIM, so Customer Service is good so far, however has any used the SIM in a MiFi Hotspot device as in say an unlocked E586?

I can't make out from their web page as they don't say landline calls are included in the monthly allowance. I want to go for this deal but it's the one thing that's stopping me.
