Go to ebay and pick something up. If it is fake you complain and get your money back, but 99% are genuine keys. You can also use google docs/libre office/ MS Office online for free. You can also try to pick up an Office 365 key if that is your thing (1TB Onedrive I mean).

I might be wrong but I think someone, somewhere mentioned you can replace them for a higher quality one (from the "premium" version) for something like 15£ if this is your only problem.
very hot, for the price
Great price..ordered!
Thanks, glad I spotted this, ordered. Only thing I might have wanted extra would have been some gaming graphics, but at least this should be nice and quiet. Only question now is whether to upgrade to windows 7...
Really good price!

Any ideas where from nexusfifth? Or more of a clue where you might have seen this? Had a quick google about, but couldn't find anything, would be up for getting one for sure... Any clues be good!
Shame about god awful battery life. I'd take an extra 500g in weight for at least double the stamina.
battery life and processor seems a negative compared with HP from currys for £399 ? full Hd is a plus on this one ... choices !!!!
Seems like a good deal although 2-cell battery is a bit of a let down.
Windows 10...

And this is with a 15W low power CPU. Yikes!

I really don't remember, if my memory serves me I stumbled upon it when I was trying to find if I can do the same (I actually wanted backlit keyboard as some of the same range have it) for my Toshiba and remember that I picked up the idea to use a keyboard from a similar form factor better laptop from a forum discussion about this laptop. I can't find it now unfortunately...

But in reality it works really well, as long as you can find a machine with the same clip system. I ended up replacing my plastic creaky keyboard for a one for a 900£ machine which fitted perfectly and is miles better than my old. (it is even backlit but I don't have the connector on the mobo to use that...)
bad screen despite been FHD.

cold.

Better google some reviews yourself.

Have you had this laptop? all reviews I can find seem fairly positive. In what way is the screen bad? Some not keen on the battery life, but not a huge issue for me, 4 hours is plenty. Others not so keen on win 10, can't blame 'em! Well, mine arrives tomorrow, will report back.
how does it compare with another deal here from Currys?

The HP pavilion is worse. it does not have FHD.
If want good IPS FHD screens, two common options:

1. Increase budget to at least £550, buy an ultrabook with good IPS FHD screen. And a decent ultrabook will have better quality, portability and batter life etc compare to those consumer laptops.

Ultrabook with good IPS FHD screen can be bought at £550: HP Spectre X360 with i5, Asus Zenbook UX305

Ultrabook with FHD screen, but not good IPS, can be bought at £400: Lenovo U31, HP Envy 13

2. The only budget laptop which comes with good IPS FHD screen is Lenovo Flex 2 as far as I know. i5 + SSHD + IPS FHD version of Flex 2, brand new £400, Lenovo renewed £330, refurbished £250. Flex 2 is two-in-one, screen can turn 300 degree.

Ok that's fair enough I guess, but I don't currently have an IPS screen and its perfectly fine. And £150 extra for it is not such a good deal for me. Also the other laptops you mention are only 13" and way too small for me, especially for FHD. So you're not really comparing like for like. IPS is great but lack of it doesn't mean this is bad.

For me this Asus ticks all the boxes specwise. Decent processor, 8gb Ram, 1920x1080 resolution, 1TB hdd, 15.6", dvdrw, VGA and HDMI, build quality on these fine IMO too. Sure you can spend more and get more. But if you actually compare like for like I think you'll struggle to get all this for £400 anywhere else.

If you do not need an Ultrabook, do not go for option 1. Because you will need to pay a premium for an Ultrabook. Ultrabook is normally 13.3 inch. And for you information, the premium on Ultrabook is paid for very good reasons. An Ultrabook is not simply a laptop with smaller screen. Most of things on an Ultrabook are improved over a consumer laptop.

You only say 13.3 inch screen is too small for you. Did you not see option 2 there? Flex 2 is a normal laptop, it is 15.6 inch or 14 inch. And it is more as it has i5, SSHD, and a good IPS FHD screen, and you do not need to pay more.

It has a tablet model when you turn the screen 300 degree. The good thing about Flex 2 is it has good IPS FHD screen, but price is comparable to those non-FHD, or TN FHD laptops.

So just arrived. Lovely laptop. Build quality first rate, and keyboard not nearly as bad as I expected. Screen is very nice, vertical viewing angle could be better (I know, IPS is better!), but I'm used to this, text set to 100% about as small as I would want, but very crisp. Very quiet, oodles of everything. Too many apps pre-installed though oO. Will need a clean install of something, might see what can be done with windows 10 with a bit of tweaking...

Thanks OP

(huangxq2. Flex 2 not really my thing either, but seems ok, processors are older though, but if that's for you, good stuff. It doesn't get a very good review on techradar though...)

It is good that you liked yours.

I use XPS 13 for personal use, Probook 650 for business use.

Just try to make a point, that not all FHD screens are good. Only a handful models of laptops come with good FHD screens in common models we see here. Good FHD screens normally expensive. I listed out few models which have good FHD screens but not so expensive. So value for money models.
