REDUCED EVEN FURTHER TO £12.99!

Update: looks like these are gradually going out of stock in my local stores. If you want one I suggest not delaying!

No apologies for posting this for a third time as it's been reduced even further: Was £19.99, then £14.99, then £13.99 now only £12.99! This really is astonishing value for a rechargeable with compatibility across a range of brands and containing good quality Samsung cells. 2 year warranty and excellent reviews.

A similar capacity battery for my Ryobi tools is over £40 and I've found these Guild ones are actually better (sadly they're not interchangeable).

Seems to be good stock too - still available at all 10 of my local Argos stores when posted.

I have various Guild (Argos and previously Homebase too) and Worx branded tools which take this 18v Li-ion battery fitment and I know it is also compatible with Erbauer, Titan, Rockwell and possibly JCB* and Wickes* own brand, probably others too (please check). Note: Worx call theirs 20v max or something but it's the same battery - that's marketing guff as voltage is not precise on these rechargeables.

Now £7 off the Guild branded 1.5Ah at Argos so just £12.99, which is the lowest I've ever seen this size. They use high quality branded cells (Samsung) and my experience supports this as they have outlasted my Ryobi ones which cost far more. 2 year guarantee!

Always worth having a spare charged battery on hand when you're doing a job and at this price it's worth grabbing a couple. 1.5Ah is great on a drill as it's light and drills are not too demanding. With something like a circular saw you'd be better with a larger capacity battery though this one will do the job for a few minutes if necessary.

If you know for sure any other brands which take this battery please post for the benefit of others.

*One poster has said not compatible with Wickes, another says compatible with some Wickes. Can't confirm but needs caution. Should be returnable to Argos anyway.

Thanks for this.

I don’t suppose you can confirm if the Worx 20v charger will charge this battery? Most of my tools are Worx and £12.99 is a great price!

Well, the batteries are certainly compatible between the two ranges. I haven't tried them that way around (ie Guild battery on Worx charger) but I really can't see why that wouldn't work. In the unlikely case that you have a problem I'm sure the battery could be returned to Argos. If you try that can you post your findings here for others please?

Please remove R-y-o-b-i from this post description. It's annoying that it keeps showing up whenever I search for R-y-o-b-i

You said WORX so if it's a compatible they will be labeled as 20V but they are the same.
