good price but when you think that the wholesale price for 305mtr box is around £25 and the RJ-45 connecters are like 5p each

You buy what you need, why have a spare 5metres coiled up somewhere you need to hide???

Good price if the length is what you need, 10m at £1.39 is good also if its long enough for you.

So are you going to knock some up and deliver them free for what price ???

Of your calculations its 40p for parts for a 10m length which will cost £1 to post at least, so no point posting such garbage.

Thanks, just bought the 10M one from ebay for £1.39
For those who need, just search for the ebay item number: 310230239122

Bought some 10m & 20m ones really cheap from Amazon sellers last week. Really really bad quality cables, and insulation on the outer cabling. Good price but beware..

JackDeth

Then the crimp tool and the bother to make a cable zzz

And a lack of moulded anti-snag ends...

These are inevitably cheap crap that don't do gb speeds....in my experience.

Buy cheap Buy twice....or about four times in my case.

If this is the case, where can you buy a higer quality cable at the kind of lengths being discussed above, and how can you tell the quality? Thanks.

Bit harsh mate. Voted hot

At least go for the cat5e as opposed to the 5 for the extra few p..if you ever do go down the gigabit route then you'll be glad you did

Yeah I would pay a little extra and get shielded Cat6, I guess it doesn't matter that much for the XBOX, but you may as well get the best out anything with a gigabit port.

I got some from these guys, it is much more expensive, but you can tell the difference in transmission speeds

cat6 is better click
i got much lower before 25% roughly for some strange reason cat5 didn't work for me or at all

Got some over-priced cat6 and a 25m cat5e cable from I found on here for a few quid and I tell you there is no big difference in transmission speed on a cheap gigabit switch, there is no difference whatsoever on a standard broadband router.

However, it looks like this is cat5 and not cat5e, so go for the cat5e on amazon its cheap and does gigabit.

You don't need shielded Ethernet cables. Once in a spot of bother I ran Base 10-T across some old telephone line for about 50-60 meters as my serial connection wouldn't work. The standard is very good, especially if you only plan using this on cheapy home routers/switches.

nice one mate.
