i hate maxtor with a passion!

bought a 200gb maxtor external hdd 1touch thingy some years back now, cost me about £200 lol
anyways, hdd died on me with a full hdd only after couple months!
i purchased it from dabs who said sorry you need to contact maxtor... so i did
maxtor said they would replace it but i would have to pay delivery! and it was about £20!!!!

TWO MONTHS OLD!

gets better, 2-3 months later the same thing! lost so much stuff from the hdd's
managed to make it work for a while longer by formatting or keep rebooting it etc but then gave up on it.

so in conclusion, id never buy 1 again

ill stick to my 500gb samsung spinpoints till i bite the bullet and get a 1tb :-D

ps: if this is a good product im sorry if i put anyone off, maybe i was the only one to have had problems with a ****** product and customer service but couldnt resist mention it.

Cold - repost of a repost :whistling:

shame its a maxtor

i have 4 dead 200 and 250gig maxtors sitting here
never touching them again

good to read this feedback.

I would have jumped at this deal otherwise.
Think I will leave it !

Maxtor is owned by Seagate... so now they are both bad or good... not sure which one... need 10,000 responses and not just a few we have had to decide...

PS for the record mine work

Mine was shipped on the 17th, not recieved yet.

Anybody know if this is one Two HDDs or just One inside?

The image is of a single disk enclosure, but Maxtor make twin disk enclosures if the pic is wrong.

1.5TB via USB2:roll: This is getting crazy.

I'm in interest in this and was wondering...is it quite?
