16-18 year olds - 6 weeks free gym membership @ The Gym Group

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I'm too old, but would have loved this at that age.

16-18 year olds can get 6 weeks free off-peak gym access between 9:30am and 4pm, 7 days a week at The Gym.

160 gyms across the country, might be some exclusions, but see if one is near you.

You can still attend fitness classes for free too, which is definitely a major perk.

I'm not sure when it ends. It just says 'limited availability'.

Definitely good for getting the kids out of the house!

That's a good reason NOT to join!
Bad move from The Gym
Will just sit at machines and take selfies.
That's all we need. I get it, it's good to get teens working out, but I have experienced it in the gym with mere 19-20 year olds creating noise, mess, sitting around on their phones. It will become a social club within a few days.

The Gym Group... converts to the old style YMCA for 6 weeks of the year... Yikes!!

Fab spot and will certainly get a few "gamers" off down to their local gym, for a spot of real world exercise and do their exam revision at the same time!!!
Not sure about this. Big narstie certianly doesn't seem to be enjoying the... shoulder press?

That's if the kids actually know about the offer. How likely do you think that is given that it hasn't been advertised?

Good deal, I'm a member but getting worried about how busy it's going to get. Phones not allowed on the gym floor so shouldn't be taking pictures.

Word spreads like flies on sh*t in secondary schools. One geeza will tell a mate and they'll all be down there.
Great post soon be having hey beefcake shouted across the gym floor as selfies are posed and WhatsApp groups are updated on progress or lack of.

If it gets too popular, The Gym will pull the offer as it's limited availability. I doubt this will be that popular.

Guess I shouldn't stick this deal in the group chat then?
Looks like he burst a pipe. Caption should say ‘hehrrr!’
thanks for sharing - son signed up!!! - we can train together now!!! Cheers
Oh wow there's a lot of grumbling about the 'youths' going on in here!
This sounds a tad predatory to me... does the signup require card details? How many teens (who at that age are likely rubbish with money) are going to sign up for the free trial then end up paying a recurring fee for something they're not using until they cotton on and cancel?

I might be wrong, maybe there's no payment details needed (I didn't want to go past the first signup page because, looking at the T&C, doing so would already commit to membership). If it's truly no strings attached then good on them, great to improve kids fitness... but if it's just a way to get signups from a demographic least likely to be savvy about cancelling free trials, then not cool.
time to get hench kids

I used to me a member at my local TheGym. Since when we’re phones banned? Surely the majority of people use their phones to change tracks etc?
If you're 16 to 18 and need to go to the gym you've probably got worse problems

Depends on interpretation, I personally used to use a Youth Centre myself (x-Year's back).

And it also had it's own gym in there as well, and everything ...

Eg. gym, musical instrument learning, etc, singing classes, snooker/pool, etc etc etc?.

That to me at least is (part and party of) what Youth Centre's are kinda all about though, if you ask me?.

It's not just about playing chess there, or raising hell at, or whatever?, lol.

Those resources are excellent to have around (as/when they're there of course?), but in saying all that, it also all comes down to such thing's also being used in a certain manner too - and preferably to that of how they were intended (and I say "preferably to that of how they were intended", because even as a the youth, not all those different resources were being used as intended - and x-Year's later I doubt that the ever exploding medium of Social Media, has helped none in helping some of them in the perception of that either, or whatever ... )

But that's just my interpretation of thing's though (based around my own unique perceptions of thing's at the time, etc?), I'm however sure, that others may be inclined to view thing's a little differently z or whatever? (based perhaps upon their own unique experiences of the same too, perhaps?).

Kid's, much as we may, or may not love them, not all know how to behave appropriately, etc (be that good, bad, and/or ugly, or whatever?).

That's pretty much what growing up and adapting (in certain ways, etc), is (eventually) all about. :-)

The sad Irony of this post is that most of these places that would of offered such services have closed due to lack of funding from the local council and government. Even if it didnt have any gym facilities and existed just as a place for young people to hang out, its long gone.

As a user of one of GymGroups gyms with enough 'young people' already treating it as a social club. This surely isnt going to help the situation.

I'll just have to hit the gym before they tend to get out of bed.

Its not that i have any issues with them but when they sit on machines and dont use them because they are too busy engaged with their phones rather than exercising, thats when it starts to annoy me

My gym was previously easy gym before they switched over and there was a time when i too got bollocked by one of the staff there for using my phone when i should of been exercising. Sadly this guy got transferred or left the job.

After that, i leave my phone along with my bag in the locker or at home every time i head to the gym.
