£192 total, is there a way to get topcashback as well? Heated BTW
No need for studentbeans. Add any address with .ac.uk and it works and never checked.
For comparison. You can get unlimited data on Smarty (also Three network) for £18.75 a month with no contract. Plus about £25 Quidco.

Can confirm this. I signed up for this last week. I have a valid .ac.uk address which I gave them but they didn’t send any form of validation.
I don’t know what three are doing lately north west UK but it’s been unusable for 3 weeks ,they threw £30 compen at me even though I only pay £4 a month, but I have had enough and moved to ee ,I was Always a big fan of them but im beginning now to think they are cheap for a reason ,and hopefully will now get what I pay for
Is there anyway to switch an existing £20pm contract to this deal, the advisor last night wanted me to take out an additional contract!
Can this sim be used in a portable mifi router box any help please

Not sure about Quidco but tcb us £15.50. I've used that sim for a few months as home broadband and barely paid anything (pm me, I don't want to hijack this thread)

I phoned them, they enabled it.
Good deal but never will go back to Three, was stuck in a contract with permanently no 4g for 18months, couldn't get it at home or work, useless, found that others agreed Three was well known for poorer signal than the others.
Had this deal at £19pm just spoke to them on live chat and they swapped me over -so Bill dropped down to £16pm - thanks OP

Cheaper to get it through TopCashback or Quidco.

Work and home I get super fast speeds which is why I stick with them, but venture much further afield and I’m lucky to get signal let alone unlimited data!

You could have ended it without paying any fees to end it by complaining of the network not being able to provide you with the service. I got contract refunded for the 4 months I was with them. Very poor data speeds (1-5mb)

At the time i fell victim to 45min wait times and being hung up on etc. Think it was 2014 or 2015. In hindsight I should have took it to ombudsman etc. Awful, would never recommend, but I know other people have different experience with signal, must be luck of the draw in where you are located maybe

In London NW10 (6pm-8pm) EE data is unusable for me.
I'm getting bandwidth of around 1-2Mb download which makes watching any videos practically impossible. Even 480p YouTube often has to buffer.

I'm assuming both EE and Three are oversubscribed and this really shows during peak time usage.

Can OP add the tags for Three and SIM only so this can be more easily searchable?

It's a new 12 month contract so you do need to take out a new contract. However, if you are out of your contract period on the £20 a month deal like me, they have let me keep the same number/sim card and just start a new 12 month contract for £16 a month. I couldn't do this online without my PAC code and ordering a new sim, which was why i needed to do it over the phone. Just use the leaving option and ask for your PAC code, once they realise what you are trying to do they will sort it over the phone.

We're you out of contract?
Its asking for verification of email
ventoo12/10/2019 18:40

Over the chat did they ask you for your .ac.uk email address?

Yes they asked for a .ac.uk address just to check I had one, I gave them a .ac.uk such as fistname.lastnsme@uniName.ac.uk but then said I didn’t use it much so asked if they could use my normal one which they were fine with.

I had a similar issue in Nottingham a few months ago, they reduced my bill to £5pm (12gig unlimited calls and texts I think) gave me £90 credit and a free signal booster over about 2 months, my signal is now perfect at home and work. I'm never going to leave. It did take a few online chats though.

Signal booster? I recently complained about too poor speeds and poor coverage outdoors. They blamed me using a sim from 2012...

But I did notice an instant 5mbps increase when I did a speed test after the chat... Are they throttling us or just a placebo?

Their signal is horrible where I am at MK too. When in London some area won't get any signal too. They are cheap for a reason like you said.

Hi I've been using 100Gb Three phone sim for almost 2 years at my holiday home without problems in £20 Huawei B310 router off Sphock. OK for catchup and NowTV and Netflix while we are there.
It's a good deal but if you work/live in Central. It's a waste can't even use the network. Rather pay extra for service to use. I moved months ago and its well worth it.

You have to pay congestion charge otherwise in central London you won't get data
