This probably won't suit everyone, though it's worth knowing anyway if you have what it takes.

Tesco currently have a deal where 8 packs of Duracell Ultra AA and AAA batteries are buy one free so straight off that's 16 batteries for £8.

Tesco have been handing out £2 off battery packs as vouchers with my shopping quite regularly, it seems to be £2 off one pack. Tonight I tried 2 vouchers as I was buying 2 packs, the till accepted it. Net result £4 off £8 resulting in £4for the 16 batteries. I went for one AA and one AAA to stock up.

If you have 2 or more vouchers this is a deal otherwise feel free to ignore it.

Oh the vouchers are valid till Christmas Eve I think, though not sure how much longer the BOGOF is on for. An alternative is they have 12 packs for £6, voucher makes it £4.

This was an Extra store, not sure if it's in smaller stores.

Edit: Sorry I'd said £3.99 it was actually £4, I guess the extra 1p will sink the iceberg

thank you I have two vouchers

Do you know if you have to spend anything to get the voucher?

they are issued by the till, so I'd expect so.

I know you all love proof. They gave me another one with my shopping tonight so this could go on.

I threw mine as thought "store only" just meant tesco ones

Now I've just noticed it does say one per customer, well obviously the scan and shop till I used didn't care. So I wonder if it would accept more than 2???
Though I think over 2 coupons prompts a check by the till monitor.

I done the same OP last week & got 16 AA batteries for £4.

Thanks, I have half a dozen of these vouchers, will try using 2 at a time.

Vouchers are issued every time you buy a toy so if buying several toys pay in separate transactions to get maximum number of vouchers

Also you can use these vouchers on their own brand batteries and the 4pk of AAA are £2. There is a coupon in the Tesco Xmas magazine for 50p off if you buy 2 packs of their own brand batteries which you can use alongside these £2 off coupons

I got Tesco own as theyre free with £2 off

But you'd have to buy at a very minimum twice as many tescos own to give the same result as half the amount of duracell.. But it's probably more like 3 or 4 times as much, so really not free at all... I put cheap batteries in my magic remote, lasted a week. Put duracell in and haven't changed them 8 months on... Do the maths

They also have 16 packs for £6 if you can find em.
Used a voucher on some last week after finding them stashed in a different section.
Get the feeling people are hiding them away so they can return with a voucher.

Can you not get 2 packs of the Kodak Xtralife ones from the "brand outlet" for free?

One per customer so this is illegal.

Yes, but according to these tests, Duracell do surprisingly badly in practice against other makes

Low drain results. A whole load of much cheaper batteries (including duracells came in a sloping range of between 2000 and 2500 mah

Call the police

you can buy 20 Duracell batteries off eBay for £5 without faffing about so its not that great a deal really, search 20 Duracell batteries and there's a seller whose sold over 40k boxes of them, over 4million feedback, best before date after 2020.

It isn't illegal, it's 'just' against their rules.
It may also be 'wrong'

They are low grade duracell, basically a budget version of the duracell you see on the shops. That or they are generic batteries with duracell branding on them aka fake.

You might also consider rechargeables - "1p" per battery is rather cheaper.

Procell and Xtralife works out better for me, looking at the test results

Voucher abuse just wrong.

I'm surprised hukd allow this kind of behaviour.

Presumably all it needs is for them to program their tills to refuse it. If they are too stupid to do this then good luck to the "abusers". Much more likely that the amount they will lose will be less then the amount it costs them in effort to close the loophole - or even more likely the loss will be swamped by the profit made from people being diverted to Tesco from other supermarkets by this "deal". I wouldn't worry yourself unduly about it...

Voucher abuse and now member abuse.

I'd hate to have to call tesco about this violation.

Haven't checked this week but Poundland had 4+4free on Kodak XtraLife last week, so you could get 16 for 2quid - be careful as the store that I used had 4+2free on some racks.

I called Tesco about this and they said they are commited to reporting every abuser of vouchers to the Police. And using CCTV perps will be tracked down and placed on the appropriate offenders register for life

I've already had a knock on the door. They stated that it was a pleasure to meet a criminal mastermind such as myself. Also as this post brought the crime to their attention I can get a Christmas Amnesty and 200, 000 free Clubcard points.

The programmer who set the tills to ignore helping hand vouchers from being used too early but can't stop more than one of the same voucher being used per transaction. Well he has now been sentenced to policing next years Black Friday Deals instore.

If these 'mistakes' by supermarkets arn't intentional, they certainly should be, with lots of supermarkets price matching each other, there is little incentive to choose one against another

It's only the modern (well, past 20 years) world because it's not possible to communicate the same emotions in writing as in speech - hence the invention of the emoticon. So you might well have not been serious, but on the other hand you might well have been deadly serious and are now back-tracking because you've been made to look a fool.

A fool!
Well I for one fall square behind every word cruz said
IIRC I've seen such offenders being frogmarched from the tills in Tesco in cuffs to waiting police vans. Quite right too

How is it my fault when someone lacks common sense and displays under developed judgement. :x

I've had you on the hook for long enough.

You should practice what you preach and heed your own words of advice please. I would use a hundred of these if I could get away with it. I was just having some fun with the more naive members on here.

Sometimes cruz you should say nothing and be thought a fool than speak and leave no doubt.

I haven't the foggiest what you are on about but I'm on about how people cannot spot when people are being very silly even when it's glaringly obvious in what they type.

Like there's a police register for voucher abusers............lol it needs no smiley to know that comment was a joke.......but then again.....
