I have the cutlery. Just to make people aware if fades off fairly quickly in the dishwasher, and doesn't look pretty after a few washes

It does say "dishwasher safe" on the box I know. I thought that meant dishwasher safe as in the colouring would not fade. I guess "dishwasher safe" is a bit misleading on such things? Could mean anything really, like it won't make your dishwasher explode, or it won't release toxic chemicals into your dishwasher.

How do look after prolonged use?
I've been debating whether *shiny*, or 'tacky' for me :).
Edit - answered above as I posted, though mine wouldn't be in a dish washer.

I haven't found this? Only thing I have noticed is that it can be scraped off the very ends of the forks, with the knife, if not careful with cutting up your food.

Lol I went with tacky. Not sure I would pick these for every day use but if you having a dinner party or something they would be a good talking point. At this price even if you use the just at Xmas it would be a little bit of fun for the day.
Plastic
Caved , going to get them just for Christmas Day , judge me if you must

a rainbow dinner party
Chav heaven!
I've got this , it does look lovely ( to start with) , had loads of ( positive) comments about it . However - the handles on the knives and the ends of the prongs on the forks have gone very faded and that is without using a dishwasher , so looks good at first but after a couple of months some pieces look very faded .

I was gifted a set of these for Christmas, they were great for a couple of months after being put through the dishwasher everyday but now they’re scratched and the spoons began to cut my mouth
Classy

Gives me a headache looking at them

It is our everyday cutlery, it was just a warnin that the colour wears off on them so they dont quite look so "pretty" after a few months

From the sound of it, the Asda ones are "for visual use only".

My main concern is, where is the colouration going?, if it is coming off during use, that means it is ending up inside you; so what are the short, medium and long term consequences of that?

Far, far too many products are not tested long term before release, just last month I read a report stating that many BPA free plastics are actually WORSE than the BPA plastic they are replacing.
These remind me of pogos

Nope - no one knows, not even the people who have them and they fade, etc!
I've got them, they are our everyday cutlery and absolutely fine so far, dishwasher at 60 every day....

Here is one of them, there was another, more in depth report, but I cannot remember which science website I read it on.
