Currys have reduced some of their metal fans which are more effective than the plastic ones:

this is a very good price! thanks OP
Is there stock anywhere 24.98?
Wickes Chorley had these for £19.99. Not sure if it was only store specific
A cheap fan in the middle of baking hot temperatures... Can't see stock being easy to find.

What is better, the standing 16' or the turbo floor fan? Both in stock in north london. Have AC already but trying to save on electric where I can.

we bought the floor fan a couple of days ago, it's more powerful than the pedestal fan and moves a lot of air

fan to push warm air around? no thanks
Just bought the gunmetal one from Kidderminster via Click & Collect. They had about 10 behind the counter that had all been reserved so they are going fast.
Screwfix do a white one for £15 it's excellent

Happy to hear it, I grabbed the floor fan this morning. Currys were offering same day evening g delivery for £3.95 so went with that. I'll report back on its performance once it arrives

I haven't bought a tower fan, it's a floor fan but don't have a link sorry as they were just stacked up in my local currys store
Floor fan looks great, it is quite noisy at speed level 1 though. May just end up sending it back. It does move a ton of air but it really could do with a lower speed setting.

A fan does move hot air around like you say, but it does have a purpose and does work.

What a fan does do is, it makes you feel its cold, and it CAN reduce your temperature. The ultimate goal is to make you feel cooler with these cheap fans. So it does what you expect it to do. If you want the room to be cooler, then you get aircon fitted.

Both have a purpose.
