Just back from Argos in Camberley and they have duracell batteries on offer 2 packs for £4, usual pack price is £3.39. This offer is also online but *instore* they also have the buy 4 get 4 free packs (ie 8 in pack instead of 4) as 2 for £4 - so 16 for £4! They also have the 9v batteries on 2 for £4 which as I just bought a cheapo Boots one for £3.99 before I saw this offer is again a great offer!
Presume this may well be nationwide as the batteries are on display near the tills.

Instore you get a 8 pack ie 4 but you get 4 free, read the post again and you will understand i had to read it a few times lol

I got them today in kendal so the Op is correct

I wonder if the sales of these are starting to struggle against the rise of rechargeables and built-in lithium batteries

so you are saying you can get 16 x Duracell Plus AA batteries for £4 instore?

Most technical thread this year, lol

Just what I needed for my remotes! Thank you OP.

I was taking the mick, I understood perfectly but it is one complicated explanation from the start.

Just stcoked up in Liverpool Argos. They've got AAA on this offer aswell.

Bought 16 x AAA and 32 x AA.

If you don't see any at the checkout counter they've got a stash under the collection counter. (or at least they did at my branch!)

Looked yesterday in Shrewsbury store and they were 3 for 2 , and they didnt have the packs with 4 free in so disapointed.

The 2nd Argos I went to yesterday didn't have any AA's visable on the shelf but they keep a big stash of them under the collection counter.

Like yours the only deal advertised was the "3for2" but trust me they go through the till as "2 for £4" though.

2 for £4 deal was on in Worthing, just a shame ALL of the packs were standard 4 battery packs, as could of done with 16 AAs...

Edit- not in Brighton either. Ahh well.
