160 Multi-Function LED Christmas lights - £8.49 @ Argos (mis-described on website)

Found 2nd Dec 2012
I needed some new lights for my tree this year and reserved item number 269/9158 which shows as this on the Argos website argos.co.uk/sta…htm as I thought £8.49 was fair enough - imagine my surprise when I collected them and they turned out to be the LED lights that are usually £37.99 (but on sale at £18.99 currently)

The lights I received have the wrong label & description on the website, they are in fact these: argos.co.uk/sta…htm product number 269/9055

I hope this all makes sense to someone, I've included a pic of the
box with the item number and pic of the actual lights as opposed to the cheap ones shown on the site!

Definitely worth it if you have any in stock near you. Apologies for the rubbish wording, it's late and I'm all excited about my lights

Edited to add: my tree is 7ft tall and these fill it perfectly, and the lead is 6m long so no need for extension leads etc! There are lots of settings including static, slow glow, twinkle and fade.

The product Q&A also seems to confirm people have received the 'wrong/right' lights too - argos.co.uk/web…158

that may have been an isolated product error rather than a deal to be had till some one else confirms...
Out of stock @ my local store, Still HOT though!
I see where you're coming from, but just want to add the product code on the box is printed on and not a sticker
Hot
Think I've just thrown 2 sets of the 240 blue ones over my tree - paid £10 or so for each set after xmas last year. They do look good, so if it turns out to be nationwide, it's a good deal.

It should definitely be national, the product number & name are both correct and printed on the box, it's just that the site omits the fact they are LED, so were priced and described as the normal lights
go to sleep hahaha!!!
turn lights off ;-)
I can't! I've been hypnotised by the pretty lights
lmao!
oos in and around bolton :-(

Stock in Bristol thanks!
we are currently experiencing a high number of volume to our website LOL
i don't want to sound like I am doubting you, but are you sure you are right here?

the description for the cheaper ones on the Argos website says they are led bulbs too.

I can't see much difference between the two products, apart from one has clear bulbs, the other has warm white bulbs, and one has a longer lead. plus, how do you know what the box on the more expensive bulbs looks like?
plus, the box on your pic says they are clear bulbs, which in fact are the cheaper ones.
Thanks. Just managed to reserve last one in milton keynes.
Thanks OP, reserved x2.

I sort of agree with Burnley_Lad. The Argos site shows a replaceable "old style" glass bulb which is misleading compared to product description which clearly states non-replaceable LED. So i'm not sure that you are getting 2699158.

But fact is that a 160 LED light's before Christmas for £8.49 is a bargain!

2 left in Tunbridge Longfield and 1 in Tunbridge Wells if it helps anyone
Managed to reserve one at my local.
Showing as 2 sets in stock in Huddersfield (10 miles away from me)
Nice deal, Both my trees are up so not really applicable to me however, hope someone who needs them can find some

Victoria road? I just left two sets there for reservation! looks like you snapped them up!
My set is reserved at Wakefield. I noticed there were also 2 at Huddersfield so giving the heads up if anyone is local to there.
i managed to reserve the last set...not at my nearest store though, so hope they are the 'right/wrong' ones!!
3 left at Bradford, Kirkgate

The picture on the site is the replaceable incandesct bulb, you can tell by the shape of the bulb. That's why I presume they are priced as such in the description, if you get me

It says on the box they're suitable for outside use, but the transformer must be placed inside, and as for the length - I can't measure them now they're up but my tree is 7ft tall (213cm x 141cm x 141cm) and there's plenty to fit all the way round from the bottom to the top. The lead length is nice and long too (6m) so you don't have to be right near the plug socket or use an extension.
South Yorkshire doesn't seem to have any!
The Q&A section seems to show others have also received the wrong/right lights too... the customer that left a question on the 29th Nov states he actually wanted a refund - how odd!
