Made by Tevion. Would be nice to have the model number, so it could be checked out before buying though. If it does what it is supposed to then it's a good deal...
Hope it's not this one: ciao.co.uk/Tev…693

No, those google results are from 2 years ago, very much doubt its the same machine.

They've been discussing it on avforums. They all think its a misprint because if it really were a freeview,hdd/dvd twin tuner, it would be the first of its kind.

Will be very interesting to see if it does what it says on the tin.

Any reasons for the cold votes or just because people can?

Probably because if you jumble the letters of Aldi and Tevion up they spell poo

I must admit that if I was going to buy something like that I would stick to one of the well known big name makes - but that's just personal preference. Haven't voted either way though...

doesnt make any difference in the PVR world as the likes of Sony, Sharp, Hitachi all made by Vestal who make digifusion.

I've had a Tevion video sender and a Tevion Satellite receiver for a couple of years now - no problems on either and both were ultra cheap and well featured.

I can't really vouch for their PVR or DVD Recorders; I had bought an 80gb PVR a year ago (was on special offer) I gave that to a friend before I could really try it out, but I think he was quite happy with it.

If this is truly a twin freeview tuner with DV input and DVD Recorder it would surely be worth buying - you can always take it back if it is poo.

Hi, Unfortunately this product appears to be misadvertised. The advert say's twin-tuner which is fair enough however, the box itself say's Twin DVB-T Tuner and, having bought one of these and thoroughly checked the product itself, this offering does not include a Twin DVB-T Tuner but one Analogue and one DVB-T Tuner (guess this makes the product ultimately a hybrid tuner). Anyway, not impressed and am wanting a full refund. Build quality in fairness is quite good however with no Twin DVB-T Tuners this product is expensive.

Hope this is of some help in clearing up confusion regarding the specification of this product.

This should never have even been sold!

Total misleading advertising, and wrong information on the packaging.

Does not have 2 digital tuners.

Does not record 2 channels at once.

Avoid!

Use your £150 and put a bit more in and buy a Humax or Topfield.

they wouldnt be much use if you wanted to save stuff to dvd.

put a bit more and get a sony or panasonic,no twin digital tuner but alot better reliability.

With the Topfield (and I believe also with the Humax but I don't have one of those) you can always transfer the video files via the usb port to edit, author and burn to DVD. But I suppose it depends what your preferences are. I really like the dual tuner capability of the topfield and don't mind the hassle of editing and burning the video files on my pc, though it might not suit everybody.
