ok for anyone who missed the daily mail offer recently,
get either the F&F 16-25 or senior railcard for £14, should be £28.
it may be a good idea to check you clubcard account too, i just checked mine for the 1st time in ages and i had £10 in vouchers there that i never knew of,
just ordered £30 worth of train vouchers for red spotted hanky with it.

I think you actually need to have accrued the vouchers to 'buy' this. Can't see any way of purchasing with hard earned cash

how I wish I had £28 of tesco vouchers good deal

Just bought one, voucher is valid till 04/01/12 and not just for new customers so could be used for renewal

Good deal, dont see a boucher if you have a disabilty thou

Looked at this yesterday morning and the penny didnt drop with me on what a cracking deal this is.

This looked a stunning deal until I realised you had to travel with one of your children to get the discount. Was hoping to use if for an Off Peak Commute into London but not sure I'd get away with a "Bring Your Daughter to Work" day 5 times a week.

Voted Hot for those using it for "Leisure Travel".

what about a lifelike doll - you could pretend she was sleeping?

That's a great idea but unfortunately I work for one of those companies where it's frowned upon to turn up with life-size child dolls each day.

Hmm good point. Why exclude disabled rail cards

I've e-mailed them about it. May be an oversight

Just leave "her" chained to the bike racks in the station.

Why not take one of these glamerous girls to work with you:

Or shove her in a locker at the train station. That might attract a bit of unwanted attention though!

The disabled railcards are possibly excluded as there's a central office that processes applications, unlike, say the 16-25 where you can just buy at stations and elsewhere?

It's a pity that it's excluded. Be aware that the normal annual price increase for 16-25 railcards is before the next student intake, and recent years have seen £2 added to the price, so get in there quickly: this is a timely deal, so maybe worth overlapping your railcards if not expiring for some time yet.

BTW, don't think this will work for full time students over 25, as they need to be purchased at an office, and the Tesco deal seems to be online purchase only.

Can anyone tell me if i can get my dad to order a voucher for me as it says in the t&c that the clubcard holders name will be printed on the token?

How is it redeemed on the railcard website?

HOT - am gutted I don't have any points/vouchers as I missed the Daily Mail deal and need a new F&F railcard!

Have some heat. Don't tend to shop at Tesco (so hardly ever get any point vouchers back) but corking deal for those who do!

has anyone actually got this deal? basically my dad has a clubcard account with enough points. can he order clubcard vouchers and then I would get a railcard?

If your dad ordered it he'd get a voucher code sent to whichever e-mail address he registered with Tesco. Included in this e-mail will be a link to the Family & Friends Railcard site where he just needs to complete the forms on there, now nothing is pre-filled, so it does look like your dad could enter anyone's details at his point. If it is not possible, he could name you as the 2nd registered holder, which means you would still be entitled to use the card even if travelling without your dad (so long as you have at least 1 child with you of course.)

I went through the Tesco Clubcard checkout at 22:26 tonight & received my e-mail from Tesco with voucher code & link at 22:35. Having completed the forms & submitted them I've been told my new Railcard will be dispatched within one working day and sent to you by First Class post, free of charge & to expect it within 5 working days.

Wonder if u got a reply from tesco about this?

hey guys last years card expired hadnt realised and missed daily mail deal fab news just bought a new railcard friends and family for £14 brilliant deal if you already dont have a rail card and youve got kids buy one you can travel for miles and save a heap of money!!!!!

I've used it ladiesman. You buy the deal using your telco vouchers then they send you a code via email. You then go to the railcard website and put in your details. When you get to the bit where you pay, you put in the code. You can put in any name - it doesn't have to be the clubcard account holder
