I've personally used them several times for deals - Clay pigeon shooting, restaurant deals, etc. they've been going here for a couple of years now; not sure why they haven't ventured south yet. Never had a problem thus far, if that helps.

If you follow the link to the Acer cash back,, it says the claims close at the end of September (although purchase must be before 16th July). At the latest I would guess they either process all the cash back then, or more likely, they process them as they come in, so claim as soon as purchased.

Thanks for the info Richard, btw are you using it now? If you are then I won't be buying one as the mistakes in your post lead me to believe that the auto correct on it doesn't work very well.
14 day delivery? I want it now! The speed tech moves these days, this will probably be obsolete by then!
No that's my HTC one x but to be fair can't blame the device it's my lazy use of Swype keyboard!
Sorry for being naive but how does this work? The site mentions i buy a voucher. And do something with the voucher. Whovactually supplies the tablet an do I have to be in scotlandvto get it? Thanks
does any one know f it has bluetooth so i can tether with my phone?
Hot from me, a bloke at work has just bought the 8 GB version & he really loves it, I had a little tester & was impressed & now in the market for one.
Page not loading for me but if it is a 16 day delivery this might not qualify for the acer cash back as it ends on the 16th of this month.
If this doesn't work the next best offer (i can find at the mo) for 8GB version is being a new customer to very, signing up for there credit account & using there £30 off code. £99 plus £3.95 del, minus £30 code, minus the £20 acer cash back brings it to a nice total of £52.94 & tcb does 7% for new customers to very too!!!

let the trolling begin....Here is some more fuel to the fire:

According to the IDC, Apple’s global tablet market share has dropped from over 60 percent in Q2 2012 to around 40 percent in each of the third and fourth quarters of 2012 and the first quarter of 2013. And while in Q1 2012 Apple outsold Android in the tablet market by 11.8 million to 8 million, in Q1 2013 Android outsold Apple by 27.8 million to 19.5 million.

If you change Glasgow to Newcastle it says coming soon & will give you a £5 voucher!
Make sure you read and understand all the T's and C's of any voucher site. For example "We are not obliged to reimburse you for the value of the Voucher Price if for any reason the Merchant does not provide you with the goods and/or services which form the subject matter ..."

What's your point caller? Anything comstructive to add?

I think he meant no matter what the tablet runs on as operating system or brand, it is irrelevant as long as it does the job for you it is a great tablet.
"This cashback promotion is valid on all new qualifying Acer product"

These tablets are NOT new - should be mentioned in the title. "All boxes have been opened for quality inspection. Bankrupt stock."

Web site looks well dodgy as well and there are plenty of stories about their non-existent customer support etc:

Why would you need to do that when we have distance selling regs?
As JOliver335 said, this isn't brand new so it's likely they would reject the cashback. Needs updating to say that it is an open box product - this is an important point. Thanks for posting though.

If the bazel is too small you run the risk of touching the screen while holding in your hand also if you put it in a case you may cover part of the screen with the case.

Open box - no cashback. This needs to be in the title........
this would he great if you got the 20 cash back which I'm guessing you won't?

Isn't cashback dependent on proof of purchase (i.e. send in receipt as proof of purchase, not a picture of whether the box is open or not?). It seems to me that cashback can potentially be hit and miss with any purchase, so why is this one so different, just because it's not Tesco, PC World, etc.?

I'm not trying to defend this price to the hilt, because I did state what the outlay was, including delivery, and the 'potential' price was £64. I checked similar posts before adding this, to see if it was potentially a decent deal worth posting, an saw a recent post for the 8Gb that had a starting price of £99, followed by loads of 'potentials', like cashback, tab, quidco, which, like this, are never an absolute certainty. It's final price may have been around the £60 mark if everything went through, but it didn't seem to raise as many doubters as this, because it was a more established merchant. I'm also aware that I am sitting here speaking with a little 'forked tongue' because I don't actually need, or intend buying the tablet. I am quite happy banging away on the mini iPad my daughter got me recently, to help me pass the time through a prolonged period of recovery from from major surgery. As with most things in life, "you pays your money and take your chances". Sorry for the long drawn out speech; I've too much time on my hands at the minute.

You're a little too defensive dude - I think he was referring to the misspelling of "Android". (_;)

Most people tether through wi-fi - bluetooth can also be used, but wi-fi has better range and better bandwidth.

Surely the whole point of tethering is because you cannot get wifi access in the first place. Am I missing the point of tethering? I thought it was using your mobile phone to send a signal to the tablet or laptop when there is no wifi signal around.

I think he meant the spelling
only 512 MB RAM
I would take the cash back out of the heading as it is not guaranteed.
I'd like anyone whose knocking these tablets to point me in the direction of an alternative one at the same price. Why the deathly silence? of course there isn't one.........doh.!
its a great little tablet I'm using it now tethered to my and using its 3g. good screen, runs all apps I've tried so far. like I say only critisicm is the auto rotate. not many 16gb tablets with GPS at his price that I've seen... don't be fooled by ones that say expandable via SD.... you can't store apps on there on android 4.1 only songs movies etc....

I have the 8GB version and the auto-rotate works fine.

I agree with you about the storage though. I though 8GB would be plenty given the expandable storage, but I haven't yet come across a single app that can utilise it, even for media. I use Amazon Cloud Player and Google Play Music for all my songs, but neither let me choose the storage location for offline access. I have a whopping great 32GB micro-SD and not a single thing on it!
this is an "open-box item" so is not brand new; I imagine the previous owner may have claimed the Acer cash back on the tablet's serial number already.....
