I know this is single dimm and I know it isnt fastest speeds etc. However considering RAM prices currently the cheapest alternative was green pcb crucial 2133 mhz stuff at 150 for 16gb. At 129.99 for 16gb at 2800 mhz this is quite a good price imo. TOOS but this has happened many times with Amazon and ADATA ram and most people's delivered within the month. Can always cancel if delivery is too far away.
THERE IS ALSO THE 64GB kit for £322 toos as well. This works out at £81 for 16gb. It would be super easy to sell the rest for profit

The DDR4 Prices are still horrible... 😑

Crazy madness pricing!!

They still seem to be struggling to get any quantities out after the fires in the factories.. and that was in 2013!!!

But then again, they did the same thing in 88 and it's still sky rocket high, 30 years after they put the flames out

Wow, £130 for a car window scrapper, it hasn't even got a handle!

Very good deal just a bit of a shame it's not 2*8 but presents a good upgrade opportunity in the (far) future should prices drop again.

Yeah would have been insane deal if 2*8 but considering everything this isnt too bad and yeah can easily upgrade to more if prices drop with this

I was thinking about upgrading my PC as the cpu's aren't bad prices. Seen the prices of DDR4 and thought Nope. Prices are lunatic I'll stick with what Ive got. Fast enough for another few years yet

By the time you need more than 16gig, you probably be buying ddr5. Unless you do video editing or such
Get this and when DDR5 comes along prices for DDR4 prices should drop then fill you boots with another 16gig stick ?
Might just go for this one. Thanks!

Good (new) RAM doesn't really drop a massive amount when they move to the next production cycle. DDR3 is still £65 starting for 8GB.

In some cases (DDR2 -> 3) the price goes up.

It really depends on the NAND output of the factories more than anything else.
DDR4 prices are painful at the moment. Just before Christmas 4x4gv were £99. They are now £180. It makes this a good deal if you have to take the hit now.

Strange time for PCs with Ryzen shaking up the CPI market, but DDR4 and graphics cards going absolutely wild. You would think they would just produce more, ut they seem quite keen to milk it.

That they should be kept in larger cages than budgies ?

(Yeah I know. the 80-20 land rule)
Recently purchased the Dell XPS 8930 that was on here.

It has 2666Mhz 2x8G sticks

As I do a lot of video editing I want to max it to 64G - I plan to replace the 2x8G with 4x16G so the £332 deal looks worth a punt.

Will this be compatible, I suspect the answer is yeas as it'll just run at the 2666 speed when put into the Motherboard but I don't know for sure.

Anyone?

No. This is desktop memory, a laptop uses sodimm.

I agree.

The Dell XPS 8930 is a desktop PC not a laptop
Wow I paid less for 16gb ddr 4 3200 memory last year.
When wilk the madness end.

heat ...... I guess
If have 3 friends that want 16gb of ram could get 16gbX4 so 64gb for 322 and would cost each 80.50

I'd love to answer but think I missed the connection. What are budgieos ?
A budgie with an o on the end ?

Wait, unless you’re like me that only has a case and power supply so will be needing everything else for for a build #sadtimes
However I did pay £150 for 3x2gb few years ago when intel brought out 1366 socket.
What the hell has happened? have I missed something? I purchased 2x4GB sticks of Ballistix Sport DDR3 back in 2012 for £25 before the factory fire in 2013. And it wasn't until mid 2016 when I found prices comparable and bought 2x8GB of Ballistix Elite DDR3 for £46.
Let me know of any time machine deals so i can go back, stock up and make £££'s
Heat from me. Especially at RAM prices these days.

Don’t forget SSDs! Not as ridiculous as the RAM fiasco but I bought my 480GB Kingston for £75 a few years back and I rarely see them dip below £120 now
Why must they punish the glorious PC gaming master race
Ordered the 4x16Gb set, its OOS but it might come back
